      Here in washington x bows only allowed for disabled with doctor signing off on state game dept. paperwork.has to be a permament disablitie that keeps you from drawing a compound or trad gear.

        Sounds like you are raising her rite .The joys of fatherhood i remember a outing with my daughter to the local wildlife park where a city boy tried to argue with her when she told me to look at the elk he tried to tell her it was a deer boy was he embaressed when the tram driver said if you look to your right you will see several bull elk boy did that put a smile on my face.:D

              Not sure what is up . I have tried to respond to this post twice now but nothing shows .Amoose what part of washington you from.You are in my neck of the woods .Sound like a good ideal you got there .Would double check your facts just to be sure had a buddy get in trouble few years back doing bout the same thing.State nailed him said he was operating as a guide . when is this rendouveous in packwood run .

                First it sounds like a good ideal .I know a few of the guides in our area are all about getting the dollar not providing a good guided hunt .What part of washington you from .I am in the tocoma area .other than that only thing i could say be sure you explain and outline in writing exactly what your service will offer and what is not it will save you alot of headache when the guy shows up thinking you will provide him that trophy animal. good luck

                    I would have to say here in washington its hard to beat in several ways i can hunt three types of deer whitetails blacktails and mule deer got rosevelt and tule elk black bear couger goat sheep and all kinds of small game can hunt thick old growth reprod high desert alpine areas and just about ant other type of terrain with short drive can be on the coast in the mountains other than that it would have to be alaska

                      i should have worded my last reply differantly i realy want to stick to wood and understand that i need more weight and foc thinking to going to a footed shaft with a 200 or heiver head thinking that would get both my weight and foc up money is a little tight rite now due to being out of work for last year so trying to get best possiable ideal of what i need so can try not to spend to much on stuff that just will not work for me and yes david will be going after elk and bear with this setup and again thank you all for your help

                        ok ran the numbers shooting poc wood shafts cut to 26 inches fineshed weight is round 550 useing 125 gr heads draw 24 inches and at that draw getting 52 # draw weight my foc is 13% foc what i can see from Dr. Ashby chart that put me in high foc does that sound good or should i shoot for a higher foc

                          No i dont mind at all Hey Joe i dont know you but my best wishes and prayers will go out for you and again thanks for the help this trad bow hunting is a new deal for me with my compound i wouldnt worry but with the longbow i have to shoot lighter weight and trying to make sure i take a ethical approach to makeing sure of a clean kill i hold to much respect for the wilds and the animals i hunt to just blunder into it

                              its draw is 64# at 28 inches my local bow shop put on a scale and at what i can draw it at rite now its drawing around 47 # my state min is 40# poundage is high enough to be legal and out to 30 yards i can keep them all in the the kill zone
