Man you were lucky to escape with a sting or two. I stepped in one when I was a kid and wasn’t so lucky. It still gives me chills.
Since we are talking hornets I figured I would ask you this. Do Bears dig up hornets nests to eat larvae? Reason for this question is that in the last week I have run into two dug up hornets nests. Tore right up. Can’t think of any critter besides a Bear that would want to do such a thing.

I have often wondered the same thing but the few “brave” folks I have talked to that have eaten wild canine gave it less than stellar reviews.
Plus Coyotes and Wolves are the carriers of Hydatid disease which I am told is a worm type parasite who’s eggs are found in the hair, feces, gut, etc of wild canines. When these eggs are ingested or inhaled the hatch in your body and form cysts in such places as the lungs, liver or even the brain which in the last example is fatal.

Thanks for the tips folks. I just finished treating my quiver but I’m stumped as to where I can find this Fletch Dry/Dry Fletch. Where do you folks buy yours from?

Ok I think I am following you guys so far. But I have one more question. What is the ideal level of Rockwell? And is there any source stating where various broadheads stand in comparision? I will probably be shooting Ace Standards 125grs at big game this year but cannot find what Rockwell their steel is. I doubt anything will keep me from using them this year, but it would be interesting to compare them to other heads.

Steve I have tried judos for them in the past, but kinda lost faith in them after I bowled a Ruffie over with one only to have him get up and fly away.
