Glad to hear their moving in your area. Should soon be on the move around here as well. No tracks or sightings yet though.

I have owned four Samick bows to date and all were great shooters, and I would highly recommend Samick for a fellers first tradbow. The Red Stag model in particular.

Funny that they would all just disappear like that. Any idea what the cause might be?

Never done it myself, but I have seen it done a few times on web videos and it appeared to work rather well.

My wife had a similar issue. Only it wasn’t her drawing hand that was causing the problem. For reasons we don’t know she had begun to torque her bow hand, and this was causing her arrow to fall off the shelf. So she did a bit of bail practice, and after focusing on it for a while it went away. No issues since.

I have never hunted over placed bait or with the help of Dogs. But I am also not willing to dimiss these methods outright, without experiencing them in ethically acceptable (for me) situations first.
For example I would not feel comfortable hunting Deer on an estate, over a corn feeder, in a treestand on a fields edge. But I would be comfortable hunting Bear in a ground blind, deep in the woods, over oats I had purchased and hauled in myself. Also I would not be comfortable hunting Pigs that are held at bay and mauled by Dogs while I shoot from 10 yards or less. But I would be ok with taking a shot at a Cougar treed by Dogs after having to climb and trudge through miles of snowed in mountain and forest.
Long story short I consider an ethical hunt to be any hunt in which I must invest a considerable amount of effort. No pain no gain, right?

All you folks carrying on about Turkeys sure makes a fella jealous. I am told we have them in Alberta, but only by draw and in the FAR South (about 14 hour drive). Guess I’ll have to stick to Beavers n Bears, woe is me:wink:.

Thanks again Stump and Steve. I just finished building out the arrow rest, and will give er a try as soon as customs decides to give me my arrows (been sitting there for ten days:(). I figure if they wanna keep them that long, they should at least install some fancy cresting and maybe a field tip or two.

Hullo Homer. I do appreciate your forwardness. I perhaps should have been a bit more specific in why I ordered the arrows in the first place.
Long story short I ordered them to use for target and 3D shooting in order to conserve my limited supply of nicer custom fir arrows. The folks at 3 Rivers said they would weigh about the same, so I am trying to figure out a way of making them work intstead of shipping them back and doubling the wait time, which from the U.S., through customs, and into Northern Alberta can be up to two weeks or more.
So while I will return said arrows if there is no other option, I would like to make em work for convienience sake.

Ah nuts. Thanks for that Stumpkiller, I guess I’ll be returning them. Lesson to self, never make an online order before first cup of coffee.

I am afraid I know little of phases as far as the Mule Deer rut is concerned, but around home here in Northern Alberta I have seen bucks chasing does from the latter half of the first week of November, to the 20th of December. As it always seems with Mule Deer, thier actions are hard to peg down.
