Daniel covered this pretty well in his thread called The anatomy of a broadhead’s edge.
in reply to: I'm getting a bow built for myself #40579Congratulations! You are lucky to have the bowyer live close by. Will you order a longbow or recurve? 😀
in reply to: Painting Arrows. #36702Hi Steve,
Jason Wesbrock did an article on spray cresting in the Oct/Nov 05 issue. If you still have that one, great. We don’t have it in print anymore.
in reply to: Robin Hood #34283Arrgghh. Every time I try to post the link I end up with the video. Thanks, Patrick…in advance? 😯 You saved the day, just like Robin Hood…

ms_traditional: I have heard that eating bananas attracts bugs to you, so I would not eat any for a week or two before you go. I also love the ThermaCell but Steve beat me to the tip about buying curling iron cartridges. Oh, and don’t forget to turn it off when you are done! 😆 I forget it is running and the next time I want it it’s dead. 😥
in reply to: Saponification #31925I was thinkin’ the same thing! 😉
in reply to: Bow choice help #27133Great suggestion. The Calendar has all of the shoots that are advertised in the magazine and some others as well. You may not be able to find all of these boywers at one show, but you might meet folks on the range who shoots these bows. Most guys are happy to let someone try their bow, just don’t dry fire it 😆
in reply to: Adding weight to arrows #23433Hi Richie, and welcome.
Check out this past Tip of the Week Benchtop Cutoff Saw. It is a very good, inexpensive option.

Of course that’s what I meant! 😉
in reply to: Expired Membership #22711Mornin’ all. Steve, thanks for the suggestions and I am sorry for the frustration. I will look at ways to improve that process.
You were sent a renewal notice 14 days before it expired, but as you stated, your email address had changed. The reminder gives you a link to whatever type of account you had before. If you were a Premium Member it directs you to renew as a Premium Member. If you were a Free Member you get the form for that. I will look at the actual expired message to see what I can do there.
Any time you need to update your contact info on Tradbow.com please use the link called Your Account under Resources. You can use it now to change your email address to the correct one. The renewal requires that your user name, password and email address all match. I can’t change that. I can put a longer expiration on the free memberships but I have to put something in that field so the problem comes up eventually. And you wouldn’t believe how many accounts we have that are never used. I know that you guys would never abandon us, but looking at the big picture, the expirations keep us from paying for accounts that aren’t active.
Most of you know my email is always on. Any time you have a problem, or if you just don’t want to mess with this system, just shoot me a quick email and I will make all the changes for you. Same goes if you call the toll-free number and ask Jillian to help you. We really do appreciate all of our customers and we’d be happy to help you avoid frustration. Now I’ll go see what I can do about some of these issues…
in reply to: Ladies, welcome to the campfire. #22692I would never dream of excluding anyone from any forum. Some of the topics may include finding hunting clothes made for women, setting up treestands and/or alternatives, or exercises to build up to hunting weight bows. All of these topics are open discussion for both men and women. I feel that sometimes instruction sounds better from a stranger than your own spouse .
Some of this may become better defined as we grow. I agree with Ray, there are not enough women archers. We are just providing a place where they can connect with other like-minded people and maybe get some instruction and encouragement. No teasing please (Patrick 😆 ).
An email is going out to the girls soon. They will start filtering in soon. 😉 And I love a man who can cook a mean sourdough pancake!
in reply to: Super Duper Extreme FoC (SDEFoC) #49094Patrick, would your post have anything to do with today’s date? I think I’ll Topeka it…8)
I agree with Mike. Don, you did a great job inspiring us to lead and improve our image with the non-hunting public. Don’s new book, How Sportsmen Saved the World, is available at http://www.donthomasbooks.com.
in reply to: Eclipse Broadheads #32812Dave, you do such an AWESOME job helping me on these forums. Being right most of the time works great for me! 😀
in reply to: Michigan "Meatout Day" #32759🙄 I think I speak for the rest of the ladies here…we aren’t too upset that we didn’t get invited. Besides, it’s way too cold …for a barbeque!
