in reply to: FOC, Tieing the threads together #60274
This thread is now “sticky” and will stay at the top of the Friends of FOC Forum. You can add to it if/when necessary. I will also try to find a way to link it in the Ashby Library outside of the forum, but that will be a little later.
Carry on!

Steve, I’m not finding anything in the index. If you think of the title or the author that might help.
We have a web article How to Make Linen Phenolic but it doesn’t cover tip overlays. I’m happy to keep searching if anyone has ideas what the article is called or when it was published.
in reply to: Posting Pictures in the Forums #50167It’s not you; I got the same error when I used the instructions I gave you. I had to go to plan B, which was to upload the photo to a web address first, then put that address in the URL box. That should have worked with your Photobucket account…hmmm.
This way we got to know each other a little. ๐ And I love the picture. Thanks for your patience and have fun on the site. ๐

Sorry, my instructions weren’t clear. That wasn’t the complete URL for you, just an example of what yours might start with. I think the URL address must be blank before you upload your image. I’m happy to do it for you, I just though I’d better clarify my instructions in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

in reply to: Posting Pictures in the Forums #48528Welcome Swamprat! Glad to have you on the site.
Here’s how you do it:
First, size your picture on your computer to 100px wide (about 1.4″ wide). It can be a little taller than 100px tall, but try not to make it too tall. Save the file somewhere handy on your computer.
Then, when you are signed in to the site and at the Campfire Forums go to Profile. Click “Use Other Avatar” and then delete the “http://” in the URL box. Click “Choose file” and find the file that you saved on your computer and select it. The system should fill in that URL line with “http://www.tradbow.com/members/cfmbb…” and then you just click save at the bottom of the screen and it should work.
If it still doesn’t work, send me the picture. I will make it happen. ๐

Yes, I believe you do have to be a member to attend the events. Best to check with PBS though.

I’ll second that! It should be nice in March and the weather is usually very mild. (We are hoping it doesn’t rain that weekend.) I’m more excited about going to Voodoo Doughnut and having a Maple Bacon Bar! It’s an eight hour drive from Boise and I think we are going to add a trip to the coast. The Pacific ocean is only an hour away by car.
As long-time PBSers we often have to travel great distances to attend the gatherings and see our friends. We fight very hard for gatherings in the West and we tell the Council that more folks from the West would join if they could see how much fun we have. I hope you will join us. It’s not too late to sign up.
in reply to: frameable quality Saxton P photo #56499Unfortunately, when you post the pictures on our site they are low resolution images (72dpi). To print a clear picture, or enlarge it for print you need a much higher resolution. T, do you have original files that are 300 dpi? I’m not sure how Shutterfly works, but I’m guessing a poster size print of these images would not be the quality he was looking for. ๐
in reply to: Tradbow e-mag and my Android #54409Hi LimbLover,
I’m stumped as to what the problem is. I’m not very familiar with the Android OS so if anyone else has input we’d appreciate it. I find the “zip” file does not work well on my mobile devices (Apple) but the straight pdf does. Is there an app you can download to read pdfs? Can you read other pdf files? Mine opens in my browser, then I can transfer to my book reader.
Let me know if any of this helps. ๐
