in reply to: WE WISH YOU A MERRY……. #35336
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you! It’s still dark here, but we got a white Christmas this year. T.J. and I will be heading to our daughter’s house to see those two little kiddos. One of them got a very nice St. Joe River bow for Christmas. I can’t wait to hear all about it.
Put your phones down and enjoy your family today…unless you have a crazy family, then we’re here for ya! π (Like this isn’t a crazy family, right?)
XO,
Mom

After I had several people waiting for me in parking lots to ask about the club, I wrote the web site address on the bumper stickers. No more people waiting for me. Don’t know how many people have hit the web site because of my bumper sticker. I would GLADLY pay $10 for TRADBOW bumper sticker, just to let people know, and having the web site address wouldn’t hurt.
Hey Grumpy,
We don’t have bumper stickers, but we have a vinyl window decal that we sell, and it’s only $5! It doesn’t have the website address, but I’m sure you’ll figure something out. π
in reply to: Spreading the Word #24913David, this is a great idea! I don’t want to take away from anyone’s desire to donate, but I want to add to your generosity. For every subscription you guys donate to a library, we’ll donate a copy of The Traditional Bowhunter’s Handbook to the library as well. I don’t always see every order that goes through, so email me the library’s info or ask Amanda to pass it on to me.
We appreciate all the business you guys send our way. We couldn’t do this without you!

in reply to: I draw the line way, way before helicopters #12744You bring up a good point, but how is that different from a bush plane dropping a hunter into a remote Alaska location? I’m not saying this is right or wrong, we’re going to discuss it, but I’d like to hear some feedback from other members here.
in reply to: New member from NJ #34407Hi Arthur! Welcome to the campfire. If you have any questions about the site, just contact me.
Well, as long as it’s all related to bows… π
I was going with the fact that the skier was shooting a bow somewhere in the video (remember that video?) dontchaknow!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. I am thankful for all of the members/friends/characters on this site! This is truly the best job I’ve ever had and I’m very grateful for it.

On the mobile version of the forums, you will now see a link to the Last Post in each thread. It won’t give you a preview popup (that’s not an option in the mobile version) but at least you don’t have to start at the beginning and scroll. I hope your thumb is okay, David. π
I’m trying to get that Last Post preview popup working on the desktop version again. I’ll let you know when it’s fixed. The support guy is great, but he’s crazy busy with several other sites. Thanks for your patience.

in reply to: Website Upgrade #60668On the iPhone, tap the green menu bar next to our banner, then tap Campfire Forums. It should expand to show two new menu items, Go to the Campfire Forums and Recent Posts.
I’ll look to see if going to the last post is a setting I can change. I think that makes more sense. Could you imagine trying to look at “What ya got going?” π―
I’m glad you are enjoying it for the most part. It’s always a give and take on some of this stuff.

I am on a computer. I have not tried clearing my caches. I kind of like them because my computer remembers things I forget :D, but I’ll try it and let you know if it works.
Clearing the cache won’t “forget” things like passwords. It just makes the browser completely load the page instead of loading it from “memory”.
The only one I can find is Stick Bows and Skinny Skis in the Summer ’91 issue, which is sold out. Don may have mentioned cross country skis in other articles as well.
I don’t think I’d be calling Don a sissy. π He’s done more tough hunts than all of us put together. He doesn’t take any shortcuts, even with a few years on most of us.
I was waiting for whatever that is behind the skier to swing around and knock him in the head. At least that’s what would happen to me! Cool video.

First off, great job with the website. I’m sure it can’t be easy. And you’ll hear more about what’s wrong than what’s right.
Here’s the only issue I have with the new website. Previously, when I went to the campfire forums and opened up one of the main forums (campfire forum, friends of FOC, etc…) I could see what topics have new posts. Then I could click on the user who made the last post to the topic. Then I would be directed to the last post for that thread. Now, when I click on the last post it just takes me to the top of the thread. Does that make sense? So now I have to scroll down through all the posts I’ve read instead of being immediately directed to the most recent post.
I know, it’s just lazy on my part to not want to scroll down. But I was used to the old way and I liked it.
Preston
Hey Preston,
I get what you’re saying. And I like that feature too. It works correctly for me, going to the last post when I click the last poster. First, are you on a computer or mobile device? Have you tried to clear the cache in your browser to see if that fixes it? If it doesn’t, email me with details such as which device, which browser, PC or Mac, etc.
For Everyone: I’m okay with hearing what’s wrong. Generally, the problems mentioned have been easy to fix. π I still haven’t gotten any response on the switch to “Send Email? to No” issue. Do any of you have an opinion either way? I’m leaning toward changing it unless I hear different from you guys.

At the bottom of the “post reply” window are the “Subscribe to Thread” and “Send Email” things I always have to set to No. Could they be defaulted to “No” so I don’t have to do that every time I post?
Thanks.
Membergate tells me they can’t set the Subscribe to Thread default to No, but they can change the Send Email setting from yes to no. So, you would subscribe to the thread but it wouldn’t send you any emails. Any feedback on this workaround?
Does anyone else have a problem if we switch the Send Email setting. In essence, if you really want to get an email when someone posts in a thread, you’d have to click Yes in Send Email. Does that make sense?
in reply to: Website Upgrade #27492Steve Graf wrote: Thanks for fixing it! Now can you fix my bad hunting luck of late?
I’ll put in a “support request” for ya! Keep trying.
I noticed the preview still doesn’t work when you hover over the latest post. I’ll see if we can get that back, too.
