I just bought this book. It should be on every one’s shelf. Welcome to the forum Siggy.

I use spray paint to put dots on my target. I wish I could spray paint a spot on the deer before I take a shot at one. I am still working on that one. Maybe a paint ball gun on all the deer in my area may be a good warm up for the actual hunt. 😀in reply to: Just a reminder … #8432Just glued my brown bear single blades to the adaptors. I have 30% FOC and 655 total arrow wt. for my 40# recurve. I hope to harvest my first deer with a traditional setup. I hope to fill out the reports for you, Dr. Ed.
in reply to: Truth … Or Consequences? Article #53939It takes a great man to admit that he lied. Up here in northern Wisconsin you see pictures of people with their catch in the paper. Sometimes all they say is it was “caught in an area lake.” I think if it was a stranger asking me where is good place to hunt. I would say it takes a lot of time and hard effort to find those good places to hunt. Then I would give them ideas on how to go about this until their eyes start to glaze over and they move on. 😀
in reply to: GOT A GROUSE!!! #53923Congratulations! Getting a bird with a bow is a real trophy. I am still after my first. I hear flu-flu arrows might help with arrow recovery.

John, have you ever been to a physical therapist for the arthritis? They know so much. Let them know you are an archer and they may have some ideas for you. I am seeing one now for pinched nerve problem in my neck. Good luck with your search for a recurve.

in reply to: Recurve or longbow your choice and why? #53915Bought my recurve in 1965 or 1966. Never really learned to shoot it until the internet gave me connection with wise archers like people on this site. No one I knew shot a bow besides my self and my brother back then. It is a joy now that I have gained some skill.

in reply to: A Question of Draw Weight #23796I am learning trad with my 40# recurve. I do have a urge to learn the art of the long bow also. When I scratch off harvesting a deer with my recurve I will move up to a 50 # longbow.
