I felt like I made a friend. Hope our trails cross someday and I’m able to meet you. It’s been a pleasure, sir! Wayne(Strait-Aero)

in reply to: who carrys a backup gun #42320Dave asked, who said,”I’ve already said too much….I haven’t said enough”? And after mulling it around for a long time, I remembered it was the lyrics of one of REM’s songs,Mr P. Wayne 8)
in reply to: What Have You Forgotten? #40352Up early, predawn and and I was feeling my way toward my stand deep in the woods. Got there and tied my bow to the rope, then climbed to my perch. Pulled up my bow and hung it on its hook, then went about getting my gloves and headnet on.
I heard something approaching in the gray light, and took my bow from its hook and peered into the faint light. And it was at that moment I realized my quiver was laying on the dining room table.(Right where I put it the night before.)
The young buck that appeared never realized how lucky he was that I was so absent-mended. 🙄
in reply to: A hunting widow's philosophy #36322Even on foul weather days, my wife will say, “You know you want to get out there and hunt even though the weather is’nt perfect”…..and she’s usually right. She knows I get something out of being out in nature that I’m not going to get by staying couped up in the house. I come back alittle bit better for the excursion. And I get the usual question of, “How was it?”:)
in reply to: Who Hunts Alone Most of the Time? #34851I pretty much hunt alone for the most part…but love to share the experiences with those of like mind. Luckily, one of those people is my son,Jared. I like hunting alone though, as I always have. Wayne:)
in reply to: Tent Recommendations #30369Steve,I’ve used the WalMart Ozark Trail in the fall in all types of weather and it was good. A nice 10’x12′ tent with plenty of room for two men and their hunting gear for about $89 is a great way to go for me here in Ohio. Had it now for about five years and all I’ve had to do was waterproof the seams with some Camp Dry. Very nice abode for the money.8)

in reply to: A Few Pics of My New Robertson #20296Nice bow,Bruce…8) I’ve kinda lusted after Robertson bows for years too. I’ve got a friend who has been thinking about selling his Robertson longbow, but I’ve gotta wait ’til my “better half” is in a receptive mood for my purchasing another longbow. Good luck in hunting with your new friend,Mr.Smithhammer! Wayne 🙂
in reply to: Temporary bow camo #17025They used to make a spray on paint that came off easily called Bow Dull, that I used at one time. It came in brown, green, and black so that you could camo pattern the limbs. Check at 3 Rivers Archery or goggle “Bow Dull”. Hope this helps you.
Wayne:)
in reply to: Winter rabbits #13833Got a kick out of your bunny hunt,Clay….especially when you got down to your last arrow. Reminded me of some of my hunts for the little critters.
