I agree with Alex…. Both of you have good points, but Mr.Bugnon has the greater good of the sport in consideration for all of us, and I am leaning toward his side of this issue. Being under the proverbial microscope is something we all must consider, even with our setting of personal limitations with our chosen tools……for the greater good of the our lifestyle choices. And I back you,Alex of Allentown,Pa., for your right to hunt with that primitive gear and trust that you’ll remain ethical in every instance. Wayne
in reply to: Facial Recognition #46069Yes…a very interesting account of your experience with Coues deer hunting,Dave. We’re all glad you came out the other end of this hunt with your buck, and pretty much intact when all was said and done. 😕
in reply to: Gettin' Out… #46053Really neat pictures of your day out and about,Bruce! Kinda reminds me of the last couple days of deer hunting this past week. Seen a few deer but no shots…. By the way,I got that Robertson bow and have shot a couple hundred arrows out of it. It’s an older bow called a ‘Purist’, not of the Stykbow era as I first believed. I’m really starting to get used to the 58# draw weight and I dug up some cedars that are spined perfectly for her. Considering the possibility of making it my primary bow for next season. Wayne 🙄
in reply to: Double Posts? #30225I guess that I goofed,Robin.

in reply to: Is Ash OK ? #29417Sealed mine with tung oil and haven’t had any problem with them. Makes some heavy shafts. Wayne
in reply to: New Robertson on the Way… #29405Bruce…thanks. Also, check your pm’s.:D Wayne
in reply to: New Robertson on the Way… #29333Bruce, I’ve always wanted a Dick Robertson’ bow, but I’m going to have to settle for a used one. A friend ask me if I wanted to buy his 70″ 58# Stykbow as he injured his shoulder and is in the market for a lighter weight bow. What a friend… even said I can use it until I get the money together, but I’ll finish up with my 52# Elk River. Can’t wait to see your new acquisition, fella. Wayne
in reply to: Glove vs. tab #29324Bruce, I’ve used a tab for years now and worn out more than a few…..but the cold weather reason, with them fitting over a pair of gloves,is why I stay with it. The mercury is hovering at 15 degrees right now and tomorrow’s going to be an ideal day for a walkabout in my snow camos. Need to get one arrowed before the Feb.3rd deadline. :roll:Wish me luck! Wayne
in reply to: Less of Dave Petersen, please! #18613It’s just that you’re so damned thought provoking,Dave…and we all enjoy your commentary! Sorry, but it’s not as interesting to hear ourselves ramble as you,David Petersen, the professional author are to hear from in this forum.Forgive us,as we’ll all try to contribute more in the future. But, you’re one of our favorite writers and one of the reasons we subscribe to TBM. “There,I’ve said, too much…” REM Wayne 🙄
in reply to: Indoor Shoots #16118Had a good turn-out:D,but I didn’t shoot worth a darn. Trying to keep things rolling,as we shoot Rheinheart 3D’s at 20 yds and up.Guys had fun and that’s all that matters….
in reply to: Santa came! New JMA Elkheart #56824Really nice bow, Mr.Petersen!:roll: Wayne
in reply to: Merry Christmas #54368Merry Christmas, one and all! 😆
in reply to: Scent proof? #36924I’ve always used a spritz of red fox urine along the edge of the sole of my boot. It seems to help as the deer cutting my trail are not alarmed…Also, take a shower or wash off with Ivory bar soap.
in reply to: Oldest Regular Equipment #34446I carry my Buck sheath knife that I bought in 1969 in the BX when I was in the Air Force. Still does a lot of skinning…but not so much this year.
