Best wishes and prayers sent for Larry and his family….My wife is a survivor of uterine cancer,so I know a little about what you all are going through. I read your updates and hope all went well with your first chemo session.

It just so happens the knocks for this years hunting arrows are “purple”,so I’ll think about you whenever I knock one,Larry.

      God speed! Wayne

To me this isn’t a simple question to answer.Like Bruce said, it doesn’t fit into one description. I can’t bring myself to take in all of those definitions,or descriptions.

Mostly, for me,it’s the ethics toward this way of life and respect for our prey,no matter their size;rabbit to moose.I mean by pursuing them with the proper equipment in order to kill them in as humanely a manner as possible.

Traditional archery does have to do with the gear we choose and how closely we choose to ethically pursue game.IMHO:roll:

            Good thread,guys! Wayne

Just finished viewing and listening to Dr. Kraus’ presentation, and was really intrigued. I never would have thought selective logging would have such a negative impact on an environment. Makes me wonder how much of an impact we have on our surroundings in nature, even as we stealthily try to slink about. Wayne

I agree wholeheartedly,Alex….the reality of the games are astonishing and the amount of violence is next to none. I see this as sending a very bad interpretation of what hunting is all about. That’s why I feel it is very important that we mentor youngsters in learning what the out of doors and animals we hunt are all about. We need to be concerned with the message we are sending to override the messages games and the commercial world are sending. I totally agree with you and your concerns. Wayne

Great article,T…and thanks for posting so that we mid-western bow hunters can keep up with our man Dave. He’s a model of the outdoors man a lot of us seek to emulate. I know that he’s changed my perspective on those things concerning the great outdoors and my ways of enjoying them.8) Wayne

Been wanting to get a blind that will allow me to use one of my 70″ longbows in it. I’ve been using netting and burlap camo with open tops and good backdrops so far in my ground hunting.(Love hunting on the ground!)There are times I’d like to move my blind and not have to take so much time to set up. Are Double Bulls big enough to allow for my bows?:?Just wondering….Wayne

Okay,I see now. Thought it was a Grizzly sow;my mistake! I just thought because the thread was about Grizzlies…well you understand.

Know what you mean about the sow’s behavior. I learned that a sow was nothing to mess with when she has cubs. I’ve hunted twice in Quebec years ago and was told not to get between a mother and her kids.

We ate bear on the grill there and I found it very tasty!

Justin, glad to hear you made it out unscathed! Too bad you lost your bear to the momma griz… Did you lose your tag too,or hadn’t you put it on yet? Do you have to report it to the game warden? Just wonderin’…. Wayne
