in reply to: "Blood trailing" light? #22805
I haven’t heard much good about the red tracking lights,Dave… I use a Coleman lantern on tracking in the dark. You can see all the sprays to the side and the like. More light for my money! But,you are right about stopping hunting earlier so as not to have to put yourself in those situations. 🙄

Waynein reply to: A month away…..it's time #16211Steve, I’m really getting revved up for the season to start here in Ohio too. Just want to be out there in the woods even though the weather will probably be too warm to hang a deer for long. Wanna get a doe in the freezer ASAP,if you know what I mean. I’ve been emphasizing “pick a spot” and follow through with every practice shot I take…..It still doesn’t always work. 🙄
Waynein reply to: That's the kind of people we have…. #14913Wild,my friend who made my Elk River has reglued the riser and has put it back in the press under 100 lbs of pressure for a week or so. We’re meeting next week halfway between us for me to get my bow back. He’s doing it for nothing, but I’m buying him anything he wants at the Bob Evans’ restaurant where we’re meeting……
Wayne 🙂in reply to: My first Deer is down! #14904Congrats,Justin! Good hunting on your other tags! Our deer season starts in a month or so here in Ohio so they won’t be in velvet. Great story!

BruceAs you can see by my picture,I’m right-handed,Bruce…but thanks for the offer. 🙂 I’m going to a shoot tomorrow with the bow my brother-in-law let me borrow.

in reply to: Two failures in 17 days….. #7969Both are custom bows,Steve and I have my Elk River being fixed by the bowyer. The glue had let go in the riser, but no wood had fractured. He is trying to reglue and then put it back in the press without any heat. We’ll see if it works. 😕 Wayne
in reply to: Two failures in 17 days….. #63927Thanks,Doc…these were my best bows. And,Buzzard,I lost an arrow the other day so hopefully that was the third today.
Anyway, I’m going put my head down and continue to get ready for my bow season, which starts in about 6 weeks. I’m determined to get by this. Waynein reply to: Two failures in 17 days….. #63790That’s not right…..that’ two in 10 days! I’m flabbergasted and a failure at math! Oh well, I guess things could always be worse. Wayne:roll:
in reply to: 7th Annual Eastern Ohio Rendezvous #56623Luckily,Robin,I have other bows….but I have to start working up to the draw weight. My Elk River is 52# and my other longbow is 58#.It doesn’t seem like alot of difference but when you haven’t shot it for awhile….You know what I mean.
The glue let go in the handle out to the lower fade out.Again, luckily, none of the wood fractured and the bowyer is going to see if he can reglue it and put it back into the press for a few days….. No guarantees. Waynein reply to: 7th Annual Eastern Ohio Rendezvous #55607Had a good time with all my old buds! Only problem was my Elk River longbow broke on the 1st target on Sunday:cry: and had to shoot with a friends bow. Oh well….
Waynein reply to: 7th Annual Eastern Ohio Rendezvous #46807Any other folk thinking about going to our rendezvous? It’s not as big as alot of the others but it’s a great time for trad people in eastern Ohio. Wayne 😕
