That was an interesting read, Alex. I was also very surprised by “the 3 Types of Hunters”. I was surprised by the small amount of “nature” hunters, although I think not all but many traditional bowhunters would fall into this category.

        Good Luck, Duncan….!

I went out for the afternoon as well. Sat for 4 hours on the freezing cold. With frozen snow on the ground, so slick you really need crampons, definitely not a still hunting day. The resident Goshawk let his presence be known, flying just inside the treetops. About 10 minutes to 4, I have a small spike buck come by. I don’t think his spikes were even large enough to qualify as a buck. But I was happy to see him. Knowing that all the other hunters have given up for the year, As long as he can get through the winter he’ll probably be a pretty nice buck next year.

I was thankful for the small blessing. Hard to believe the two months of deer hunting will be over in just a couple of days. Autumns splendor, has turned to Winter’s Grays and Whites. The winter woods really brings out the experience and meaning of solitude. Peace!

        Happy Holidays!!!

Thanks, Guy… yes it is wrapped in freezer paper from the butcher. So I guess I’ll just have to check it out first.

I could never shoot with a tab. Doesn’t feel right for me. Howard Hill, Fred Bear, Byron Ferguson.. many others all shoot or shot with a glove too. I agree with Hiram… it’s most likely, arrow spine and a form issue with release.

Try shooting with a release. 8)

I like 4 Fletch with 4 inch Parabolic. Less drag, stabilize quickly, and excellent arrow flight.

Despite a beautiful sunrise. Due to Winter Weather we had to cut the day short. Sign in the snow said the deer were there. But we danced with squirrels all morning. As always.. still great to get out. And even better getting out with another traditional bowhunter and good friend who shares the same ideals! Good hunting, Alex!

Rocks, Greentree… that’s good shootin. As long as you stay within your range of competency, that’s what matters.

Here’s 3 arrows at 20 yards ( I must have had an epiphany or something that day…..

                                Here’s a bunch at 20 yards, on another day…
