Kevin just shot me an email with suggestions. Now Im overwhelmed with choices. I do like your setup and im a big fan of FOC with that being said, Im thinking Spruce is the way to go. He agreed to set up a test kit for me after giving him my DL and poundage and weight of my Bh. Is there anything else i should consider prior to placing my order?
in reply to: Starting point #26701Thanks again for the wealth of information guys. Everyones input is worth a million bucks in my book.

in reply to: Off Season #54492By the looks of thing, I should keep my skills sharp. I too will be going down in weight till deer season. Probably to about 45lbs. Ill be looking to book a hog hunt here pretty soon. Bowfishing is definately on my list this summer. We do have an abundance of Aligator Gar down here in the Arroyo. Thank goodness my job keeps me on the water. I know where most fish hang out.
in reply to: Fast arrows #47106I see that there are some variables to consider. I was looking for the average speed for a bow that shoots a 500 grn arrow or so. Any arrow 3 rivers would set you up with to get started. Im all about High FOC arrows, heavy arrows. Its just that Ive read ads commenting on their (Lighting Fast) bows and I just had to ask what is lighting fast? Ive been shooting for a very short time and through these threads and much help from Troy Breeding, Im coming along. Thanks again Guys. This Forum hosts some of the finest Bowhunters and I enjoy your willingnes to share the knowledge.

I can see this playing out in my head as I type…LMAO!!!

I only get a chance at them 1 week out of the year either during November or January on the Laguna Atascosa Refuge. Most everyone hunts there from a Tripod and I think it is a smart idea to do so. I hunt from the ground. I had 2 encounters this past year, one at 15 yds and one at about 5 yds. Both encounter were startling and brief. I shoot a 681 grn arrow from a 55# LB. I have access to 2 other places that have a decent number of Nilgai aswell but I’m limited to hunting Does on their property. I wont complain. You know as well as I do, hunting in Texas is difficult as it is and even more so when you dont have land to hunt on.

in reply to: Favorite Arrow discontinued #46800I just had to add………..I just found, ordered and recieved 1/2 dozen of my favorite arrows that are discontinued. You can find lost treasures on ebay. These heavy arrows will be my Nilgai arrows. Ill swith out to my lighter Cx arrows for medium size game….

😛
Now this brings me to my question. Dave or Lyagooshka, what spine would you recomend if i shoot 55#@28″ and want to tip my arrows with 225 Tuffheads. Douglas fir or POC..I dont know where to start

Next day I didn’t want to bother with the broadhead remember my prior set of arrows making the sound, even with field points, only difference is about 85gr on the tip. Anyone have any suggestions / similar experiences? Be well.
Alex
😀
I just might try adding some weight. Interesting find.

That is what I shoot and yes I am having to call Truflight to get them. Im guessing there is not much of a demand for them. I am a big fan of the 3 inch shields.
