in reply to: diy 3d targets #11227no but one could if if they wanted to the life of the target would be much shorter
we just use target points i found that the sharper pointed ones do less damage then the rounded bullet style points

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets
angry, he’ll be a mile away-and barefoot.
Have you ever tried to eat a live pig….it can get exhausting.
Life feeds on Life. That carrot you eat was once alive and growing.
in reply to: who carrys a backup gun #46600I will always go with powder burns over pepper burns on a bear sorry not going to trust my life on a can of Seasoning
but in the 18+ years i have been up here i have had way more close calls with cow moose then i have a had with bears
bears do respond better to warning shots then cow moose and with that said you dont always have to shoot the bear it self you can warn it first with the 1st shot.
in reply to: who carrys a backup gun #40239I am not really afraid of any of the beasts that roam this land Wolves I couldnt care less about as for the bears I carry because I like to hunt alone and if I find a Boar I will try and make a stalk on him at that point I need to be My own backup gun
and if I am packing out meat 150-250lb of fresh meat on your back makes You a walking free meal

in reply to: Improving accuracy #42845adjust your brace height that will change the size of your groups most strings stretch so you have to check it from time to time
have you ever done any bare shaft tuning?
when i got back into shooting after more then 8 years off i didnt know anything about tuning i was always told theres no tuning a stickbow if you miss its you not the bow
but this time around i looked in to it more and started tuning my bow and then i looked into how to bare shaft tune my arrows and my groups got tighter then ever
just my 2 cents
in reply to: Black Widow #40477hogup wrote: Great post Steve. I too have been eyeing the Black Widow line and frankly, I just don’t like the way the bows look. I know that’s silly but to me it’s a break point and will stick with Bear.
Thats not silly
A Bow is as much a work of art as it is a deadly weapon the act of shooting a traditional bow is an art in its self
the look of a bow is the main deal breaker for me i love the look of all my bows even thier Scars
in reply to: Adult Supervision Required #27401Yea and wouldnt have tasted as good as the first
Your story is has a underlining message it is true that some folks think that bows are toys
When I was about 15 years old I got shot in the hip by a 6 year old kid who was playing around with a little 15 lb bow while I was pulling my arrows the kid pulled back about 1/2 draw and let it fly from only a few yards a way it didnt get in the meat thanks to my jeans and the fact that it was a rounded point but it hurt like hell and did bleed a little
I told his dad about it and He still let him shoot alone outside in his own yard but still without any Adult Supervision
I got my niece and nephew into shooting bows and made them respect them the same as they would a gun and they both are very safe when shooting but that is also because i am always shooting with them they never shoot alone
in reply to: Adult Supervision Required #27232We hunt for meat right? the 2nd kill would have had more meat than the first 😆
in reply to: Meat in the Freezer #10489I am with you man i love the taste of wild game because thats the true flavor
Alot of folks say caribou taste like crap i like the flavor My favorite is the heart
also enjoy cutting all the meat myself that way the hunt comes full circle
