in reply to: Tuning Bear Kodiak Hunter #22361
Good luck on the tuning of the Kodiak. David like the print of the bearpaw did you get to see his owner to.
in reply to: scent masking #22357So for the multi day hunts/camps do you guys like to use scent free baby wipes to clean up or do you have other tricks to keep clean hygiene
in reply to: scent masking #21150Its really no surprise given how good a dogs nose is. So I will then use the wind in my favor and not buy a gimmick.
in reply to: Roosevelt Elk vs. Rocky Mountain Elk #21148If memory serves me there was recently in one of the hunting publications of either TBM or the NAHC magazine a write up on hunting the Roosevelt elk and how the guy who got the recent Washington state P&Y record and which tactics he used. Most of it seemed similar to hunting Rocky Mountain Elk in the dense aspen areas.
in reply to: Another short video w/Buck's Bow. #19200Awesome shooting George. Sorry to hear that such a great friend passed.
in reply to: Quiver options #17943I tried and made my own gfa quiver but I ran into the problem with long arrows sticking out to much and that is the one that broke on me. I don’t know the horn hunter look interesting if it has a way of carrying water, say a bladder. I may have to try the safari tuff, I have seen some similar made but with leather I wonder which one works better. On the mystery ranch pack do you worry with the safari tuff that it will flop around the pack while you stillhunt?
in reply to: Anyone use a "possibles bag"? #17856I use a daypack more while hunting out here where I live never liked anything that can flop to easy good to chance to make noise with it. Just trying different back or side quivers since the one i had sort of worked out broke.
in reply to: Wes Wallace Profile #17852It is kind of funny to only see a goatee and no eyes for the guy but a really good article.
in reply to: New to the site and new longbow #14570Got the bow tuned this past weekend along with some arrows and was so excited to shoot it. The wife was shaking her head watching me shoot in the rain but it shot great and was real quiet without silencers. I then dried the bow and arrows off and have been practicing form and reading Byron Ferguson’s book and watching the videos Masters of the BareBow.
in reply to: Scents for Hunting #13660Sometime I use a scent but it is more of a cover and not doe in heat or anything like. The one scent I have had success with the elk ignoring me over is skunk cover scent.
in reply to: Craziest thing I've Ever Heard #13652I mention dear that if I have a place to shoot less likely having me spend money on stuff we don’t need like a vacuum:lol:
in reply to: Bow-ready in 8 weeks article #16774Also I remember from my days of lifting if you do strength training the right way you can build up muscle and lose weight.
