Lee C. One other way of getting is help is there a few traditional top archers in competition that also teach technique I know of people who have taken there classes and got a lot out of it. I think TBM had somebody do a report on Rick Welchs bow school which is one of them. Or the other big one that comes to mind on Masters of The BareBow is Rod Jenkins. He has classes he host throughtout the country you can go to or even try Byron Ferguson I think he still does his classes also or the other one is Bob Wesley who learned from Howard hill.

For me i learned more having a good quality coach to critique my technique since i can watch a video and think I am doing the same thing but until i have someone check my technique to compare I can be wrong.

I currently have 2 longbows one a bob lee and the other one made by Byron Ferguson. So I definitely do not have enough and as time allows I will add to the collection or get rid of some in the collection for others/

Dr. Ashby sorry for your loss. i ma reminded of what a friend of mine said when he passed which was “Don’t mourn my loss but celebrate my life and all the fun we had”

Dave, i was thinking about the East Coast tribe like you mentioned and how they were similar or different to the PNG tribes in hunting style. After all i was thinking that and it maybe wrong but for the PNG tribe since they deal with less wind or not able to find a suitable feather as to they evolved there arrow to be so EFOC. However the eastern tribes dealing with a more open wooded area, needed the feathers of a certain size to operate effectively out to a further difference. I even wonder about the pacific northwest natives and what type of arrows did they use for there rainforest and how much FOC. I am curious due to wondering what worked so well for the Native tribes here and getting them a good clean kill and the results they had.

If you go with a custom bowyer, some may offer the option of tracing your hand to give you the most comfortable grip. Like Fletcher suggested try and test drive few bows at a nearby trad shoot or trad shop if you have one near by. I happen to like for R/D a couple of guys out of Oregon that are making beautiful bows that shoot great according to reviews are Bigfoot bows and eagelwing archery. I also recently tried hitman longbows out of Wisconsin an loved the smooth pull and no hand shock out of a 3 pc takedown longbow. The bow pulled 54lbs at my draw length and felt as easy to pull as my 48lbs bob lee one piece longbow.

is there a particular bowyer you are interested in? or are you open to suggestions. Since there are a lot of great ones out there to fit your bill. Also do you want a one piece or takedown?

I have used a tarp and tent stakes to create my own tent out while hunting. Along with used a Bass pro tent that is more of a larger than 2 man when hunting with others. There are a lot of tent makers out there with a wide price range. I have used a cheap Wal-mart brand tent, the downside was when the wind and snow came up it was miserable. So I now use a walrus brand tent I got used off of Craiglist and it works well in the bad weather but is pricey new.

I don’t know why but when I first saw the title I thought quartering the animals had now turned into a competition:D

Really liked the video though always good to watch and get an idea of how to minimize the amount having to carry out on the back. To just the meat and anything else needed.

Also on youtube do a search for jummyblackmon. He has a lot of great instructional videos. Along with being a topnotch shooter. I would also agree with MBB vol.3 having the most info out of the first 3 can not comment on 4 since it I have not seen it. Also I think if you check out Rod Jenkins safari tuff website he has setup a calendar of where he is going to be. one is near you in kentucky.
