in reply to: Roosevelt Elk vs. Rocky Mountain Elk #35734
I live in roosey country. In fact they frequently visit our backyard:
I agree with others here that elk are elk and therefore the only real difference between roosies and their rocky mountain cousins is the habitat they live in. Also roosies don’t tend to migrate as much since they tend to be found in milder climates.
in reply to: Dec/Jan issue #19738Received my new TBM in the mail last week. The annual small game issue has always been my favorite issue of the year, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Also, as a longtime supporter and life member of the RMEF I was very pleased to see the editorial in the Dec/Jan issue. It’s important that we hold accountable the organizations that are funded and supported by the hunting community. Thank you TBM for taking a public stand and holding RMEF’s feet to the fire.
in reply to: Small Game Heads #18252Sounds like an Ace hex head love fest…except that’s what I use as well.
in reply to: Hunting Hats for 2010 #18215Here’s mine:
Filson Packer. Been wearing it since 1994. My wife hates it. But I think it’s just getting broke in.
in reply to: Ground Hunting #17178I have never been in a tree stand. I have nothing whatsoever againt them; rather, growing up in the west hunting on the ground was the way I was taught from the time I was a kid. Never have seen a reason to change. Besides, I doubt that I have either the know-how or the patience to hunt from a tree stand.
in reply to: Recurve or longbow your choice and why? #17168I have both and I shoot both. But if I had to choose between the two I’d go with a longbow. Can’t explain it but there’s just something about longbows that I find compelling.
in reply to: Recurve or longbow your choice and why? #14671I have both and I like both. But I’m partail to longbows because they tend to be quieter than my recurves and feel more natural in my hand. But that’s just me.
