in reply to: I love my classic Bear bows! #43021
Bear bows it is. Nice looking buck.
in reply to: 1st trad.buck #41137He’s a good one.
in reply to: My first shot at a deer #40946Get back in the saddle. It is not always like that. I have lost one critter but most fall.
I’d recommend looking for a lost critter a second day as well. When the hysteria wanes.. Many people have had success finding their critter the following day.
in reply to: Buttonhead #40812Great question. As luck had it, it was sitting right on top of the snow. When I shot the deer it was not a complete pass through. Some was still hanging out the far end. When the deer walked off it wiggled through. Upon inspection of the heart the Broadhead had done it’s job.
I used the Stos on the turkey and it was devastating. I am going to recommend them.
in reply to: Gotta get this "stuff" under control! #30506Number 2 happens like clockwork at the same time every morning. So I have come to expect it.
Number 1 – a lot more random. I try to avoid coffee.
in reply to: The Silent Arrow #30342So do you think different arrow materials contribute to noise of the arrow? I’ve heard some guys make claims on this. I have never made a conclusion either way or cared to0 much. For example – I know a fellow who says the Port Orford Cedar shoot much quieter than the carbon.
in reply to: Longbow buck #28175Fantastic buck. What a way to start a day off prior to work! Great little story too.
in reply to: Found a Big Buck… (pics included) #27561Gotta love those neat finds. Did manage to find one large muley last year in December. It had some thick main beams and would have been a trophy for sure. I gave it to a friend.
in reply to: Lamination Separation #27525Word on my street is that guy is a good bow maker and a good man. I’m glad to hear that it is not a fatal problem.
in reply to: A Mountain Trip #27521Gotta share something. Even if it’s a failure season. I do that in hopes that some shy people will get their photos and stories on here.
in reply to: Carbon hunting arrows #26612Carbon Express Heritage 250s
in reply to: Who is your bowhunting hero and why? #26538Kore Duryee and Glenn St Charles. Was lucky enough to meet Mr. St Charles several times. True sportsmen and pioneers who were dedicated to promoting archery and loved what they did.
in reply to: Predator Recipes #26294Wolves can carry a number of very bad diseases. You don’t even have to dismember them in order to contract the diseases. Some of which can be found merely on their feces.
I have never eaten a wolf or coyote and do not intend to. But a bear and a cougar are predators and I would eat either one. Cook your bear meat well.
in reply to: Shrew Haven West #26156You can’t win them all. I was expecting to see a photo of a 300 class bull with David sitting behind it wearing a big grin.
