Jim, I use a rag. Usually I do three coats.
Another thought, that stuff will eat up latex gloves. I found some rubber? gloves, like kitchen gloves, that work. Problem there for me is most kitchen workers have much smaller hands than mine. One size fits all is a joke for me.
in reply to: Sloooow Start, but Great Evening #38775Alex, 13 uh? Strange, I had 13 turkeys make me look plumb stupid the other day and then they had the gall to run to the next ridge and stand there rubbing it in. And scent ain’t got nuttin’ to do with it:D:D Little pea brains. :evil
in reply to: Sloooow Start, but Great Evening #37498Glad your at least getting out a bit. Doesn’t take but a little sometimes to sooth a man’s soul.
That’s a first for me to hear about, a pant leg in the wrong place. I’m trying to figure out how he do dat:D

Buddy of mine’s new arrows look pretty good and they would probably shoot well if they were straight.:roll: Dunno about some!!!!
in reply to: Douglas Fir Shafts: Stain and Sealer #34360I just use minwax stain and poly. Never problems. I sent you a pm. Ralph
in reply to: Caught with my pants down… #32515Shipping to high for replacement parts right?
Good story Jim.
Good to just “get out”, uh!
Me too, curious too why not weapon in hand.
in reply to: What are your favorite trad pictures? #32076A friend sent this to me yesterday. From 03/96, our little group and club we had back then. We shot at a friends ranch near McClean, TX. It was a neat place on McClellan Creek.
The lady kneeling in the middle is my wife with lucky me to the right of her. The old gentleman to the right of me, Reese Field, was the father of our trad group, mentor of a bunch of us.
Bill Foreman, Great Plains Bows, is standing on the right.
Thought I’d mention that after nearly 20 years, all are still lean and mean:wink: shooting machines, except for Reese, he’s with the Great Archer in the sky. Great and talented man he was.
Alzheimer’s is an awful disease.
Sorry about pic quality but the idea is there.
in reply to: Trad Look? #29109Ummm… I could go trick or treating as a “young” trad looking guy. 😀
Don’t think I’d have any believers though. 😥
in reply to: Trad Look? #28280Like the flag:D Like the tent:D
How do those range tents hold up to high winds? I see you have windbreaks, me not.
Now what:shock:?
You won’t get over it but you won’t get over hunting either. So do what you do and treasure the fact that you can.
I’ve found that in my 7 years of retirement it seems I’m not hunting as much as I used to. I put the pencil to it, I’m hunting as many or more days than I used to but now it’s at my leisure instead of being crammed into a few vacation days and a few weekends during hunting season. So maybe it ain’t as bad as I thought.
There is a difference though, it’s not always about the hunt anymore. There are things to see that I never took the time away from hunting to look at.
Maybe that’s the part you’re discovering.

Thought you would get that. You know what they say about lawyers who have themselves for clients. I know from first hand experience that it works that way for engineers. But engineers could find a way to drink beer with no hands.
So it was an engineer that invented the straw uh? Always wondered. :):)
in reply to: Lost Season, Maybe Worse #25537On a cheery note Don, back in my other life, I don’t recall a beer mug caring which hand raised it in toast. Or whatever. 😀
in reply to: Hunting Practice? #24447Well blow me down mate. Good one:D
in reply to: Hunting Practice? #23810That’s a good place, in the woods, for trees and peoples 🙂 to think!
Works good too on the prairie for mesquites, sagebrush and this old people.
Wonder what the wind thinks about stuff as it blows by?
