I think Steve has his figures correct. A little fly on the wall told me he makes good bows. :D:D

I did the calculations for my new bow that I’m making. It looks like I’ll be able to shoot a 50 grain per pound arrow at about 3000 feet per second.
That’s too hot!!!
Steve that’d be a fire hazard in these parts dry as it is.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #45353What a modern traditional bunch we are uh Doc? If we use the real traditional stuff they call us primitive.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #45262What ya sayin? Wood arrows, B50 string? 😀 Ummmm!
in reply to: What ya got goin? #45234One really handy thing about wood arrows, if you don’t loose them all:D, is that you always have kindling for a fire starter in a pinch.
Better have an ignition source though cause rubbing two arrows together may take a bit longer that you want.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #44581Dang Doc, you coulda bought a half dozen carbon arrows with all that garden money + a can of peas. 😀
in reply to: What ya got goin? #44526Way to go Bruce, wood rules!!!:D
in reply to: Signs of Spring #43475Yep Doc, that’s the only thing on our side when turkey hunting, they don’t smell us.:D
Hell, they don’t have to, the sharp eyed beggars.
I think they run faster nowadays too. 😉
in reply to: Signs of Spring #43470[quote=paleoman]Ralph – that’s a Texas lilac! Beautiful. We got 2.1″ rain here today. Found a perfect stone ax today in a farm field. But no groove. So just a rock:lol: Did you guys get rain out of the system that’s worked over the middle of the country today?[/quote
Nope on the rain. Got some mud drops but that’s all. Maybe Sunday, Monday. Hope.
I found a tool the other day, some kind of rubbing, grinding tool. Grooved to fit a hand perfect. No points in a longtime though.
in reply to: Signs of Spring #43418Doc, that mean I don’t have to take the ‘no stinkum’ stuff with me Saturday when I go looking for turkeys. Thanks buddy. 😀
Eids, not me. 🙄
in reply to: Signs of Spring #43361Gettin my bow scented so I don’t have to worry about turkeys smellin me. 😉
