I had a good time at a trad 3D gathering at Leedey, OK. this weekend. Those guys set a fun course. Thanks guys!!!
It’s so good to see playa lakes, stock tanks, and farm ponds full of water after all these years of drought.
I feel for the people in the west who are experiencing drought and horrible fires. My prayers your way.
I’d like to say the feller that owns the arrow with the pink fletching was shooting at the coyote’s ear but………..that was a major whoops……….
That is locally known as a line cutter 5:wink:
in reply to: Archery Anatomy #24685Hmmmm I wonder if shooting deer with pee’s is legal 😳
You might be legally able to fling peas at’em (custom peashooters may be expensive) but it might be kinda lawfully iffy if you run around tryin to pee on’em.

It’s never been good to be up the creek without a paddle. A bow ain’t much count without an arrow. These days I figure we’d best be having spare batteries for whatever else we have in our pockets. 😉

Just the opinion of someone that doesn’t like to rely on batteries.
Mark.
And hope the truck battery ain’t conked out:D:D
Has happened. Glad my phone battery was good and mom/dad lived down the mountain about 12-15 miles. Whew, it was cold!!!
Cain’t say pop was too happy!!!!

Yep, using the GPS to avoid private land, not to locate it and access it.
in reply to: Untamed – Online now #20737Thanks Clay. Very well done.
I forwarded it to the entire trad group that I send my R2Tunes to here in the Texas Panhandle, about 40 folks, plus my other buds.
Lots of effort but it paid off great. well done.:D:D
in reply to: Strange Things/Near Misses #20115I know a guy pretty well 😀 that once upon a time, more than 26 yrs ago, I know at least that long cause this feller hasn’t partaken in the the liquid in the targeted container, that was practicing drawing his new Bear bow, aiming at the container… and just shot it.:oops:
Two things, first there was no arrow in the bow thus no holes or other damage to the motel room and second Bear Archery was kind enough to replace the bow even if it was obvious that it had been dry fired. I didn’t try to BS them about what happened.
I think they thought it was so humorous that they’d just help me out. I did pay the postage both ways though. Cheap lesson there.
Thanks to them and to the Man who kept me out of trouble one more time.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #20106We had a nice gathering of 12-14 trad folks here in Amarillo today. Shooting a 30 shot 3D setup, keeping score some but more for fun than anything.
We’re a close knit fun loving bunch.
We’re fortunate enough here that our club allows us to have the 3rd Sunday of the month just for traditional archery.
Pleasure to meet you Drew and enjoyed the day. Glad you came up to see us.
Make sure you clean the hole in the bow out really well before you epoxy the inset back in it. 😉
Good luck with the one one the way:D:D
See in a month perhaps. :D:D.

One tip, if you use tie on nocks, I use clear nail polish to keep the nock in place. A lot of folk use super glue, but I am leary of this, because the main chemical in superglue will eventually burn or rot the bowstring over any prolonged period of time

Steve I found it quoted on page 166 of Vintage Bows-II by Rick Rappe’.

Especially for you guys that are starting to get old. 🙄
It’s really great that life allows some to enjoy it longer. :D:D
