in reply to: What's with the phones? #41077
Just gotta recognize what’s good and what’s bad and be able to separate the two.
The old saying “I heard it straight from the horses mouth” could be said nowadays as “I got it straight off the internet”.
But it’s like my daddy said “who in the hell said all them horses is honest horses?”.
in reply to: Let's See Your Fletching #38560Wow, new baby and the reward of a PhD for all the hard work!!!!:D:D
Lots of years left to hunt, right now you know where the priorities lay..
Congrats.
Maybe we’ll be seeing you somewhere here in the Panhandle next spring. :):)

Nice looking arrows there Drew.
Thanks R2, hows your season going?
Kinda slow, right now. Either wet and muddy or family stuff happens.
The weeds are so high and thick that my favorite spot and stalk kinda hunting is tough.
I’m glad we have a long hunting season.
Thanks for asking.
Have you gotten to get out yet?
P.S. Drew you know the deal with my bow hand, sometimes it ain’t very happy either.

in reply to: I think a Dingo ate my Baby! #37303I was hunkered up in a big pile of rocks early yesterday, about half asleep, waiting for daylight so I could do some glassing, when a mess of coyotes starting raising a ruckus within a hundred yards of me. Downwind too.
I thought about Steve’s deal and I was hoping if I smelled at all, which was a good possibility, it wasn’t smelling dead. :D:D
Never saw the buggers so guess I smelled like people which at times can be OK..

in reply to: What's with the phones? #34715Oh no, no more “an ‘app’le a day keeps the doctor away”.
We still have bananas…………
in reply to: What's with the phones? #34511I like that “apptitude”. :D:D
in reply to: What ya got goin? #34295Well Steve, the “treeologist” in me is curious, in regards to another recent thread, you did plant the variety that only drops it’s nuts in the morning didn’t you. 🙄
in reply to: What's with the phones? #33794I enjoy my smart-ass phone. I just choose not to hunt with it.:D
It hunts with me but it becomes a camera and possibly (hopefully if bad happens) an emergency self preservation device.
I agree that all the BS that goes on with phones, tablets and such when people are hunting is that, BS.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #33193I’m gonna try to get a couple of days in before the weather systems coming from the west coast get in the panhandle area and dump more rain on us.
I know about the on call deal after 40 yrs of doing line and substation work for the power company.
No plans have thee!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you’re gonna get to get out.
in reply to: Wood Arrow Journey #31503Waiting, waiting:D:D I bet they’re nice.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #30949Noise in the county so much sweeter than the noise of the city.
The Sandhill Cranes are migrating in.
They winter in the area and south a hundred miles or so.

Maybe I’ll experiment with fishing arrows 😯 I figure if I use my safety harness to keep me attached to the tree, and the line from the arrow is attached to that, what can go wrong? 🙄
