in reply to: Share buttons #40990
Thx. You have good weekend too David and we be grateful that we have a nation where we can “push each others buttons”. 🙂
Be well and I’ll join you in a launched salute to our freedom…
in reply to: Share buttons #40305I’m saying from one that grew up for the first 10-12 years of his life tech free other than an occasional phone (then we got a TV :D). I’m happy having some tech in life and when someone is trying to simplify it it’s great.
Wood bow, glass bow, wood arrows, carbon arrows, shootin’ glove, smart phone.
I’m happy with all of it. Don’t wanna do without any of them.
Those little buttons ain’t in my way and I’ll bet most people use a PC or tablet to view this site. Just my thinkin………..
in reply to: Share buttons #35381It’s not exactly drums in the jungle or smoke signals on the plains, the method in which we are communicating now so what’s the difference in which buttons we push and where they’re at?
Copy and paste something on the site then email it or or select the email button and email it??
I don’t do any of the social sites but obviously I communicate through email.
So where are we more advanced in our “communication world” than we are in our “trad world” with synthetic material in our bows, carbon arrows, synthetic string material, etc?
Selective tech???????????? Selective trad???????Each has a choice.
Something to think on I guess after I saddle up and head to work.
Don’t forget my smart phone….
I don’t understand the philosophy of sitting at the computer, typing and complaining about technology.
in reply to: Share buttons #29646Worked like a charm..
in reply to: Share buttons #29636I used the email function, and it worked for me… I think:-)). No reply yet. Shoulda emailed myself. Would know then. 🙄 Maybe………..
I think it’ll be a handy tool.
in reply to: Texas Knappers #61427Been lots of hard knocks for me and still not great at it:)
I don’t know this fellow that I’ll pm his name and number to you but a good friend of mine has taken lessons from him and he makes some nice stuff.
It’s far from south Texas to Amarillo but this fellow may be able to put you onto someone near you.
This feller may be be fishing but I’ll send you what I have.
Ralph..
in reply to: Bringing A Kid Along….. #51870I think it’s great when folks jump in and share with the youth.
I work with the scouts when the club lets the local scout district have our range for a day and one of our local archery businesses works with the 4H organization.
The youth are the next batch of trad archers coming along.
I enjoy watching a young’uns eyes light up when an arrow hits where it was intended.:D:D
We had a group of challenged children out once. I’ll have to admit that I was a challenged adult dealing with it but it was so rewarding I’d do it again in a heartbeat. My hats off to the people who help to make a place in the world for the less fortunate folks… Takes special people:)
in reply to: What ya got goin? #28524Went snooping yesterday.. Lease is green but getting dry. I did some weed whacking with a yo yo (idiot stick)in a place where I like to sit and watch the world go around. Can’t make myself sit in a batch of silver leaf nightshade. It’s a toxic weed. Only if eaten I’m sure but still…………….
I saw a muley doe with triplets. A bit unusual methinks but not unheard of.
They were little bitty guys.
Hope it doesn’t go into drought times again. The quail are back in good numbers. Turkeys are plentiful and it’s good to be seeing rabbits again. 😀
Notice the use of my back muscles, the follow through.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #13699Hope you get over your ailment soon. Sounds like you got a good plan going your way.
in reply to: Shooting Tips Video – With a Selfbow! #24568Enjoyed your video Clay.
I don’t point gap, shoot what’s referred to as instinct, and that makes it hard to overcome that subconscious command to let go.
Your video is another reminder to work on the let down process again :D:D, and more often.
It is a good way to start a shooting session for me, to draw back, settle in on my target relax and not loose the arrow, let down.. Hard!!! Hard!!! Sometimes it don’t happen, it’s hard to beat the brain that that’s decided it’s on target.
I’ve noticed with me that the further away I am from my target the let down gets more difficult???? Duh, me, distance should not be a factor methinks.
The best shot one can make sometimes is letting down from a drawn bow.
Brain games…………….
Like old Reese said, “It’s simple but nobody said it’s easy”.
If we could put a safety on a drawn bow like the safety on a rifle, have it unknowingly engaged, we might be surprised how many times we “jerk the trigger”.
in reply to: Beach Bows #28087I wonder if Jimmy Buffet is a trad archer???:D
in reply to: Beach Bows #23001Ah, so where’s the Mexican cutie?? 🙂
She lookin’ for the lost shaker of salt?
in reply to: Beach Bows #13780What kinda snake that y’all got around there???:D
Nice work Steve……..Don’t tell me “bow snake”
in reply to: Bowyer's video #38194Was good. Thanks David.
He makes it looks so easy.
I bet I could figure out ways to complicate the hell out of it.
in reply to: East Texas Hog Hunt #26032I see a new book coming, “To Become One With The Canoe”. Or “How To Keep One’s Butt Out Of The Snake And Gator Infested Creek”. 😀
Snakes have their place in the world as I have mine and as long as we’re not entwined it suits me.
Glad you had a good time Drew.
In the Corps we “saddled up”.
Canoeist “paddle up”? Just wonderin…
