What do feed them in the park? :~}
By the way Jim I watched a very good show about how Sydney handles their fire and water problems. Gotta hand it to them. Good job.
in reply to: woodbows.com reviews #56131Anyone have any idea when Rudderbows is going to start selling bows themselves again. As far as I know right now you can only buy through third person companies and I don’t want to. Their website says they’re moving to a new place.
in reply to: Giving It Up #56108I have a bit of a problem with tree stands. 😀
in reply to: Nothing is wasted … #56105Mississippi kite looks similar but no Mississippi in Australia 8)
in reply to: Off Season #56084Arctic peccary!! 🙂
Can’t ever get enough it seems. Dang sure better than shooting in our seemingly forever panhandle winds.
in reply to: Use of Arm Guards-Pros and Cons #56058Then again, if you have “popeye” forearms like I’ve been accused of having all my life, an arm guard is a mighty good thing to wear to avoid that, when least expected, little sting. Once stung, not forgotten. Really don’t need it most of the time but sometimes I do. The sting usually tells me my string has lengthened some and needs twisted up a couple of turns. Some people shoot their longbows with as low of brace height that they can get away with to get that little bit more speed but one good whapp on the arm ain’t worth that. The difference is really negligible to most of us anyway. So raise it up and go for it. Or wear an arm guard and not worry. You probably gonna need one anyway with long sleeve shirt or a coat.
My 2¢
in reply to: Giving It Up #54062I don’t always hunt but when I do I prefer me feet on the ground.:lol:
in reply to: How times change. #52482There be those to whom nothing is good enough and then there be those that “there ain’t nothin’ better than what I got”.
Good we have both, the first to seek, improve and refine, the second to perhaps keep the first within the boundaries of tradition. It’s the bending in both directions that keeps us proceeding in and enjoying our spirit of tradition.
in reply to: Fletching Tool? #51746Ive had a Jo Jan six arrow jig for many, many years. Maybe even a couple of more “manys”. It is adjustable for the amount of helical (I shoot left helical)as well as easily changed from 3 fletch to 4 fletch. I have my own little tweaks and techniques that I use for different 3-4 fletching. Kinda nice sometimes to be build or repairing 3 or fletched arrows at the same time. Me, I have no problem shooting either. Mostly 3 fletch though. Have fun!
in reply to: Winter Range #51725Some y’all up north have a winter range like this? :)) Niagara Falls 102 yrs. ago.
Yep, smooth mostly. Doin’ gym 4-5 days a week. Lifting more weight than I ever did (kinda like your marathon running though, didn’t used to do that :~}. Shooting less #’s on my bow and shooting better. Probably would have shot better the last 40 yrs. if I had been shooting some less weight but what is, is what is, what I did, I done. I’m 67 & 10/12’s 😛 and happy everyday cause I’m here and all’s well, pretty much. I still hate turnips!!! We have a friend in the burnunit in Lubbock, not because of burns but because of, look up in Google images, eyrthodermic psoriasis. His whole body like the worst image you can see. We gotta be grateful that our aches and pains are not as his. Ain’t nada wrong with free cokes!!!
Let’s see if my math makes sense:50’s/60’s = 30’s/40’s. Now since I’m way closer to 70 than 60 I’m going for the R2 equation 70’s = 20’s. Might’s well think big! What’cha think Mr. Peterson?? :P:lol:
Ain’t no E=MC² but what the hey! How bout a 70 = 20R2²
Can ya tell I gotta lot to do today 🙂
in reply to: Winter Range #51651Yeppers on that!!
Fence was down ‘tween’ here and NM yesterday. Way bad brownout. 60 mph. Yuck. Rarely gets brown here in Amarillo but yesterday was not good.
Sad when your arrows are hitting the target nock first :lol:.
in reply to: long shots #50476I feel better now, my wife is wrong. She told me “you cain’t help stupidity darlin’, it’s natural for ya”.
in reply to: Aluminum Arrows #495322217 (535 grains) 😀 Found this! I’m assuming (oh oh) that’s an AMO 28″ standard. Like it’s said about assumption, ……
