in reply to: Aussie turkeys #51975
Hey, cool. He has bow already I’m sure! Looks like he’s having fun!!
I agree on the running deal. It excites critters into more aggression sometimes methinks. Besides that, there ain’t a whole lot of critters that we can outrun anyway.
😀 Just look what a big stick did for Anthony Hopkins in “The Edge”. Some stuff’s real right? 😕
in reply to: Aussie turkeys #51896Jim, aren’t the cassowary’s pretty much kick a..? Like mean, aggressive and dangerous? Not like turkeys that hook’em up and change counties.
in reply to: Aussie turkeys #51444Yep Jim, sounds just like congress!! Get everywhere don’t they!
Turkeys!! Yeah, only I would’ve had to trade my bow for my Henry but that ain’t happening yet! About 30 hens with a half dozen admirers. Way to many eyeballs.
in reply to: Aussie turkeys #49729Fooled me! I thought “gobble, gobble” was universal language.:lol:Maybe she ought to try “gobble, gobble mate”. :?:D
in reply to: What are your favorite trad pictures? #41886The way my bowhunting went last year I think I have a genetic memory of long, hard, cold, hungry winters. But I did get a good pic of this guy and broke “tradition” and went home and had a steak!
Can’t see drought conditions can ya?
in reply to: What are your favorite trad pictures? #41514Diamond doesn’t “point” my arrows per se but she usually manages to mosey over to where they be laying.
And if I could practice what I teach…..
in reply to: Angry cow vid AND Ben's hilarious deer story! #41508Those fellers wouldn’t get very good footage in Pamplona :lol: Unless they learn to shoot better over there shoulder while at a fast pace.
in reply to: Had the day off #35654Ha! Once again!!! Chicken and rice casserole with pigeon substituting for chicken works well!
Good shooting!
in reply to: Target Panic #35651Thx for ideas fellas. I be working on it too. That’s what we do best methinks is to help each other out. I got over a batting slump in Pony League baseball by quitting trying so dang hard to be perfect. Here too, just gotta let it flow. Thx again.
in reply to: Target Panic #35080Guys, I really had a case of it yesterday!!! We were stump shooting earlier before the 3D tourney and I was unbeatable. But when the tourney started and there was scoring involved, man, I could not get to full draw on a bet. Discouraging but I ain’t quitting. I just gotta quit worrying about doing correctly what I already know how to do methinks. Maybe pay my fees and not even get a score card next time and see what happens.
in reply to: Target Panic #32917I know mine is only temporary: I ain’t gonna live forever! 😀
It sucks but I’m working on it. Funny how it only happens when there’s scoring to be had. Now if that ain’t a brain thing!:x:x
My old 50’s model widow doesn’t have a problem though. :)) But nobody was watching!!

There dang sure ain’t nothing right about this!
in reply to: Glove Question #28332I have some old Neet gloves that I’ve started shooting with again. They’re not to thin or thick. I shot a tab for years and do shoot better with one but my old hands are starting to get stiff and bit arthritic and I’ve “dropped ” the string a few times when using my tab. My third finger just gives away. Can be scary! So I’m going back to my glove so I won’t loose the string when I’m not expecting it. I hold on better it seems with the glove. That’s what I learned to shoot with anyway.
in reply to: Abell's instinctive shooting books – a question #28327I enjoyed them. I did learn that he has lots of “rights” and that I have lots of “wrongs”. Gives me a challenge to right my wrongs. 😀
in reply to: Our X-gun friends and bowhunting's public image #27080Understand! My butt whoopins I see now as way more justified than at the time they happened. :D:D
It’s what you do right in your time, not what you do that you think you can get away with that counts.
