in reply to: Best way to tune for wood arrows? #13072
Thanks, just curious. I’ve been shooting wood arrows for nearly 40 years and have never a need for anything other than 125 gr. or 160 gr. Was just thinking others may want to play or need the points. 🙂

The ones listed are the easily obtained weights, there are others. Don’t forget about WoodyWeights either. You can easily add FOC to any 11/32″ arrow with these and a FP or BH.
Where do you find glue on points such as these?
Broadheads I know, field points????

Hey Dave why don’t you try and find those magic keys on your keyboard and double click one your way, and one mine. 😀
That is a mighty purty bow..
in reply to: refinish a glass bow #8276Oh, yeah by the way. If I hadn’t guidance of my best friend, the maker of Yellowjacket Longbows as my coach and confidence builder I probably would have never put a file or rasp to one of my bows much less anybody else’s.
in reply to: refinish a glass bow #8259A light sanding shouldn’t change anything on a glass limb to be noticeable but if one gets too aggressive you can remove pounds (takes quite a bit of elbow grease to so with sandpaper)but more importantly it’s not that difficult to mess with your tiller.
Wood limbs are way more prone to changes when sanding.
I’m no bowyer by any means but I’ve taken poundage off of several bows for me and others and I’m very particular about tiller.
in reply to: refinish a glass bow #8242Hey guys, I took some weight off of a recurve a couple of years back and instead of refinishing with poly I used true oil. It turned out well and with the effect I was seeking. It is a duller shine but nice. Don’t know how to describe maybe well but it doesn’t reflect as much in the sunshine.
in reply to: Rabbits, Hares, and Squirrels- Oh My! #8238Me too on a repeat:). If you have a recipe for chicken and rice casserole, just substitute the the chicken with your small game, squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, etc. You might want to not use the cream of chicken soup and use double on the cream of mushroom or one can cream of mushroom, one can cream of celery. Lots of variables here. Makes everything really tender and sooooo good.
