in reply to: Going after a grass grizzly #39155
“..ran down over the lip and it charged me (or so my 14 yr old self envisioned).”
😀 A badger, charged 30 yr. old tail for real, 30 yr. old treed in back of truck out of arrows. Think badger starved to death before expiring. Groundhogs not nearly as ferocious?
I used to get after prairie dogs with my bow big time. I had a really good place but now it’s covered in a housing development that went broke. Ruined more than my dog hunting.
in reply to: Modern Archers??? #38584Scott, don’t send your computer, we wouldn’t know what you look like. 😀

I did hear of a fella who claimed that $3000 dollars worth of his find cigars were destroyed by fire and claimed THEM on his return…. Oughta be some way you could claim me! I AM younger so I could be another adoptee? Right?
Aussie, if Ralph doesn’t want them peacock feathers, I’d take a box full of herles… they make purdy flies!
Only the feds would believe “docnockstrew”. I wouldn’t! Nor my wife:wink:
in reply to: What's happenin' to things? #37826in reply to: What's happenin' to things? #37325David, I’d probably have better luck trying to deduct my lost or broken wood arrows. Ummmm….. Ought to be some kind of “green” angle there. 😀
Jim, I don’t go lookin but don’t turn’em down either. 😀 Thanks. I’ll have to take a pic of my wall of fame someday. I do have some good’uns but a whole bunch smaller too.
All but 2 were good eating. One wasn’t do to a sorry butcher, the other because a pack stray dogs ran a doe I shot before I could get to her and messed her up. My cousin rid the country of that dog pack a day or so later.
Peafowl are noisy, nasty.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #37135Thanks Jim. That was cool to watch. It’s amazing how innovative people can be when it comes to surviving and also how quickly bad habits can be picked such as tobacco. 😀
in reply to: Short recurves…suggestions? #37071That’s the one Jim. I don’t shoot mine all the time but like I said it’s good to have around in wet times. I don’t use the spacer either.
I too have been going back and forth between glove and tab and that’s ?????????????
in reply to: What's happenin' to things? #36877in reply to: Short recurves…suggestions? #36603Jim, is that the short form of “Discretion is sometimes the better part of valor” 😕
On the topic of wet world and bows and equipment, have you ever tried a Saunders fab tab? They’re a bit stiff for awhile but they’re waterproof.
Mine is made for Mediterranean style shooting but works fine with 3 under. Takes some getting used to though. I keep one in my gear in case a cloud comes up around here. 😉 Wet feathers shoot way better with a dry tab or glove.

You can always a spear on pigs like Anthony Hopkins did in “The Edge: on a griz. You just tick off one of those sows with piglets and she’ll come a runnin’ wantin’ a piece of ya. 😆
Stand firm with spear in hand…….. With me? Wonder if you can work a spear from the rear???

Challenge… accepted!
Nah I’m just kidding 😉 I’m scared of high V!
Don’t take long when you start skinning a hot wire to figure out you shouldn’t have done that. You don’t get to be a master electrician doing that more than once probably. 😉
in reply to: Get the Tradbow.com App! #33302:-)). From my iPhone!!!! Happy Easter to u also. Ralph & Shirley. Hippity appitiy along.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #32434But, then there’s Roy Scheider’s thoughts on the matter, ” I think we need a bigger boat”. 😀
