Wex, I’ve never been to Lansdown Rd. but will one day would have liked to have gone to Croke Park that would have been a privileged.
Been a long time coming but we’ve got some good young lads, we had to fight for the win, its the kiss of death to mention the grand slam with France on Saturday.
Ill be at Worcester, France v England under 21 game followed by a session with the lads to see the big match.
Good luck with Scotland, you’ll win but it might be tough.
Looking forward to Italy v Wales.

I’m going to sound sad but I really enjoy work, with that out of the way.
Hunting waterfowl, but only on the coast.
Any small game with bow or shotgun.
I’ve two springers and work them for others, ones quite good the other follows but between them they do a good job.
Clays with 10 and 8 gauge, sold the 4.
Canoeing but sold the boat it was to big for me on my own looking forward to choosing a new one.
Fishing passed me by when I was a kid and only started fly fishing recently, loving it but have promised myself not to start fly tying.
Family, I’m blessed that they are all fit and well and enjoy what they do, wife retired at Christmas and I’m benefiting from her undivided attention, lost about 10 lbs so far!
Just a natural curiosity for all things outdoors, natural history hunting now fishing.
Working towards a serious hunt this year no plans in stone but it will happen, to many things have been canceled over the last two years.
Beginning to ramble now, Mark.
Forgot the rugby, don’t know how that was possible and beer, will be combining the two on satuday, cant believe how many folks are drinking IPA but that’s a good thing, bit of a thing for scotch from the western isles.
in reply to: Use of Arm Guards-Pros and Cons #55704If none of the above help you may be locking your elbow out this may be the cause, turn your elbow out to the left (assuming you are right handed).

in reply to: Arrows???? #55698Hi, and welcome Cyrille.
From my experience I know if I’m shooting left its because my eye is not directly over the arrow, it will be left of the nock. I have to make an effort to push into my anchor, hope this helps.
And happy birthday!

in reply to: Humidity in new shop (new bow pics added) #46661I second Northerners suggestion keep the air circulating, but nothing beets a BIG dehumidifier keep the temp up and let it work 24/7 until it stops sucking water.

in reply to: Historic bowhunter #44403I like that, many of the old illustrations show the hunter accompanied by a hound.

in reply to: A comment on crossbows #44284Shot at my local club this weekend with a couple of guys using xbows, said nothing just interested to see how they performed, both were scoped with illuminated reticules, I was not impressed by accuracy offhand, if there was some form of support available then they were consistently accurate at both short and long range 50 mtrs+. I was offered a shot but politely declined.
Having given it some thought xbows are more a substitute for a rifle, just my thoughts.

Has a podcast about ravens that is good listening.
Not exactly crows but good listening and they share some attributes.

in reply to: What if …? #30026Go back a few years wooly mammoths, short nosed bears and saber toothed tigers roamed the streets and what was the long range weapon of choice, a stone tipped arrow.
Is it us that have failed to evolve?
Smithhammer, I’m not one for trophy’s but I really want one of those over the fireplace.

in reply to: Outdoor Injuries #21168Only serious run in I’ve had was swimming off the estuary after getting caught out by a rising tide, I was OK in the water only a short swim but got very cold hiking back to the truck it was not that cold but the windchill was bad, things were turning blue and thankfully the key was easy to get to.
I was parked by a ford, grabbed my dry bag, dumped all the wet gear and was now stark naked drying off when the postman drove thru the ford, he never looked twice as though it was an every day site.
Dog thought it was fun swimming with the boss.

in reply to: Your minimalist hunting camp! #21158This is a subject close to my heart after someone looked at my camp last year and said ‘proper old school’, well it all still works but after checking out what others are using it weighs about twice as much as they were carrying.
Tailfeather, been there, first day of the season bit to keen knee deep in water not sure the dog ever forgave me.
