Come to think of it, most of life fits there. “… and then we die.” With a future like that, what’s to fear? 😯
That’s a glass half full…of cyanide, way of looking at things. 😆

I prefer the larger, “elk femur” gloves. 😆 Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
No matter which, tab or glove, I’ve always disliked some things about each. Since losing the glove, I FINALLY found it again, but I’m sticking with the tab….forever! (said that before 😆 )

That’s more hair right there than I managed to grow, cumulatively, in a lifetime! Of course, growing up mid-century, my father insisted I keep a “burr” cut, then came the Marines for whom a burr was way too long, then came baldness, revealing the true magnificence of the fully revealed human male skull! 😳
😆 That excuse don’t fly with me! I have very thick hair too, but that doesn’t keep me from covering it up. I just love hats. 8)

Man, if I could find a seriously runted black lab that has all the qualities of the breed, I’d be a happy man. Big dogs increasingly complicate travel. Much as I love ’em, I’m done with ’em after the current models go south.
Two new magnificent bows, a great son with great hair, and a small big dog! You must be living right. 😀
She’s a 12 week old yellow lab pup. I relate 100%, in that I was very reluctant to get him a dog because I remember all to well how much having one restricts travel options, but in the end, his persistence won out. Plus, I’m hoping the bow and pup will keep him out of trouble…at least to some degree.

Having said that–I don’t own one. Do yourself(and your credit card) a big favor and stick with map and compass–it’s a heck of a lot more fun and no mysteries involved–when you get lost its all you:D
Just my humble opinion.
Now THAT’S saying a lot! 8)

Are the tips static? Does your boy outshoot you? How’s it do?
You’ve a good looking boy and dog there. Something to be really proud of.
Yes, they’re static, per Gregg. I’ll take a short video of him pulling the bow back so you can watch the limb tip in action. You can tell the Elkheart and the Helms Deep are related, but they definitely are different.
He’s a very good shot. I’d say we’re pretty even, but he’ll be better than me…I have no doubt. The bow shoots great. Very smooth and it’s fast. He’s already shooting it as if he’s been shooting it forever.
And thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
in reply to: Amazing: My son's new Java Man Archery Helms Deep #7730I can’t wait to get that Elkheart home. It is a beauty!
Thanks guys, I love that pic too. 8)

Trust your son has an appropriate Fedora coming for x-mas to complete the picture:D.
Nope, I want both bows.:lol:
For some completely inexplicable reason, he doesn’t like wearing hats. 🙄

I’m no Byron Ferguson, but I did teach myself to shoot anchoring from my hip after my neck surgery a few years back. I think any pure instinctive shooter can do that pretty easily. I’m a long way from drawing a bow now, but I did take my wirehair down behind the house today and shot a ruffed grouse she pointed one-handed, left-handed with Lori’s 20-gauge. May not sound like much, but it was like killing a 40-inch ram to me! Best and thanks, Don
Very inspirational. So much of life is how we handle and look at the adversities we are all bound to encounter.
