LOL! I really am racking my brain for real ones. I requires a rather large lever though.

I would buy one of each, fletch it up and see which shoot better.

I’ve gotta say that I think you’d be setting yourself up for some frustration using only 1 arrow of each. I would not recommend doing that.
in reply to: Cold Hands #31597When it’s really cold, I where a mitten on the left hand and a thin glove on my right hand. I have a big pouch that attaches to my belt that I stuff my right hand in while waiting. Only my left hand ever gets cold, seriously. To prevent confusion, I’m right-handed.
in reply to: Help with Tip of the Week #31090You asked 🙂
Tip #1:The advantages of shooting game at extremely long distances.
I find that by shooting at deer at excessively long ranges, I’m much less likely to spook deer when…ooops…I mean IF I miss. Makes it MUCH easier to pull off multiple shots.

Dang, I don’t even personally know 5 people who shoot traditional!

I knew there’d be a catch! 😆
in reply to: New Bow…but not THE bow… #28323Heck yeah! Although I don’t build my own, and probably won’t, I like watching others do so.
in reply to: Where is Steve Sr. #27975Good question!
Yikes! I think I’ll just stick to dull blades! 😆
in reply to: Bare Shaft Tuning – Glue? #26104Ferr-l-tite is fine, but do NOT directly heat the shaft.
Apply the heat directly to the glue when installing the insert.
Heat the field tip, which will transfer the heat to the insert, then the glue, in order to remove the inserts.
Once you’ve figured out the arrow length you’ll be using, THEN remove the inserts. Permanantly install them using JB Weld.
in reply to: Bare Shaft Tuning – Glue? #25696Use ferr-l-tite. It’s easy to reheat and remove. I would recommend using different weight field tips to find the correct spine. Cut the arrows only after you’ve confirmed the correct spine and know what weight head you’ll be using.
in reply to: How windy is too windy? #25122I’ll hunt in pretty much any wind. You just have to limit your shots relative to the wind, and/or hunt where it isn’t as much of a factor.
in reply to: Anyone else hate gun season? #24598I think the above replies echo my sentiment. Despite my rant in another thread, I do not begrudge gun hunters. I choose to hunt with my weapon, they choose there’s. As noted above, I’m grateful that we live in a country where we can make the decision as individuals. That statement may not have the same implications as you may think. There are some countries where you can’t bowhunt, which is perplexing.
in reply to: wood shafts #24285ButchMo – I like your Jay Massey signature quote. Concise and so true!
in reply to: yes I AM a deer hunter ! #24139Congrats on your first deer…trad bow or not!!! 8)
