Question… I like the finish on those arrows. What did you use (spur, poly, lacquer?) and how many coats did you apply?
I bought em with the finish already completed. Lost Nation Archery did the finish.

And the Hitler comment was just stupid; a far cry from one to the other and any reference there was ignorant and not called for. Some of you need to grow up and think.
🙄 Only if you take everything literally George, which would be the definition of ignorant. Chris was merely using a very common way of making his point. We can certainly speak our minds and say what we will about those who have passed. Noone’s perfect and as far as I’m concerned, to treat anyone like they were, unfairly puts them on a pedestal they don’t belong on. The fact is, just because you’ve met Byron Ferguson doesn’t give you any insight into the type of person he is. Same could be said for Ted Nugent, etc.

As well as my 4 fletched arrows are flying, and how noticeably forgiving they are, I’m thinking I would do well to add a couple more feathers and even longer ones. 😆in reply to: First group EVER with wood arrows #44871BRUC wrote: I like the four fletch and really nice color on the shafts! One-quarter of an inch higher and you would have been less an arrow:) What’s the backstop made of:?:
BruceThanks. I tapered, fletched, nocked, and installed the points, but Lost Nation Archery stained and sealed shafts.
The backstop is called “The Block”. It’s a large block of “foam” like layers. Our local club uses them. Picture’s worth a thousand words:

Don’t rain on my parade Bloodless.:lol:
in reply to: First group EVER with wood arrows #44506I was going to be buying some from Rick at The Feathered Shaft, but he didn’t have any “ready-to-fletch shafts” at the Great Lakes Longbow Invitational. Instead, I found some super cheap shafts from Lost Nation (they’re 2nd’s) there, and I figured they’d give me some practice straightening and tapering. I’d rather ruin these than some pricy shafts, and if they don’t work out, I’ll just turn them into flu-flus. I really do like using wood arrows! It’s very satisfying.
in reply to: Who makes a good pair of pants these days??? #44383Can’t speak for Dave, but I buy mine in larger sizes too, so that I can layer underneath them.
in reply to: Lamination Separation #44345Nope, she’s all I’ve got. 😥
Good point Dave. I’ll stop shooting it. I can still shoot my old bow, which is now Tyler’s. He won’t mind too much.
It seems this is my year to break bows.
in reply to: Lamination Separation #43480Heck no! I don’t think you were being argumentative, and actually I was asking for you guys to question my judgment. I just figured I was sending mixed signals, since I was really just expressing my thoughts prior to posting (hence the confusion). Then I tried to be funny…and failed miserably.
in reply to: Lamination Separation #43455Actually Ray, to paraphrase a Kenny Chesney tune: ” You had me at…
rayborbon wrote: Yes, I agree. I don’t believe that particular lamination on the handle’s outside layer would affect performance or be cause for major concern regarding the integrity of the bow.
😆

That’s what I figured. Although enough is happening there to cause it to separate. I’m going to shoot it tonight…I think. 🙂
in reply to: Stalk in these? #43429We were shocked to see a guy wearing a pair of those this weekend at a 3D shoot. He said wears them EVERYWHERE. I regret that I didn’t specifically ask him if he hunts in them. DOH!
in reply to: Lamination Separation #43424Thanks guys. It’s a 2 piece takedown, so it’s definitely not one solid piece.
Good idea Dave. RE: Moving to Bowyers Bench forum
in reply to: El Grande flight tests #43159I’ll be ordereing some of those very same broadheads within the week. 😀
What size file do you use Dave?
