Thanks the review. They make it in tall sizes too. 8)

Thanks!
The brim on this hat (an Akubra Federation IV Deluxe) is perfect. It’s never an issue, even with my 66″ Whisper. I have an older Federation with a bit of a wider brim, and the string would hit that one occasionally, depending on how I had my hat cocked.

Dad certainly had his part to play in that I’m sure.
Congrats on the deer as well !!

He’s a great kid…most of the time. 👿 😆

Thank you! Hit right where I intended. 8) 😀

Thanks! Hmmm…not sure how to describe it. I was up against a tree. That probably goes without saying. Nothing extravagant, some little sucklings around me. I cut three shooting lanes in it.

Thank you fellow Michigander! Ausjim should approve, since it’s an Akubra, from hatsdirect.com (both Australian companies). They make a great hat at a great price.

Looks can be deceiving. 😀

That’s why I just glean all my medical information from the Internet, much more reliable, and you can’t beat the price.
in reply to: Kanati Solo Quiver #27107This is what I’m going to purchase and attach to the Elkheart I should have sometime this December. 🙂
in reply to: What a year it's been! #27101Thanks guys! And yes, I used the Hammock Seat. I’m really glad you guys recommended it. It’s worth every penny.

Cons – slightly noisy
Yes I would recommend it to a friend 🙂
Couldn’t agree more! I used mine this morning, and it definitely assisted in allowing me to maneuver in order to be able to get into position, quietly, to get the shot.
in reply to: What a year it's been! #27005I should add that earlier, I had a spike come through, and didn’t see antlers until it was too late. It had just broke daylight. He came in to my left, RIGHT INTO MY WIND, and got to 7 or 8 yards from me. He had his head down until the last minute, and slowly looked up and saw me. He about broke his back spinning around to get a safe distance away…about 30 yards out, and went on his merry way. He never winded me! I can’t help but wonder if his olfactory system was on the fritz. I’ve NEVER had that happen before.
in reply to: Ground Hunnting #26997Great job! Congrats!
in reply to: A Milestone Miss #26992Absolutely! I think that not making an issue out of him hunting with the compound made a big impression on him, and truthfully, even if he hadn’t switched back to the longbow, I would’ve been perfectly fine with it, and he knew it.
One of the other things he said is that he really likes that traditional bowhunting is a community.
in reply to: Lost Season, Maybe Worse #25766Man, that is a heart breaker. Here’s hoping for a quick recovery. (Well, I’ll have to drink to it later, as I’m currently at work.)
in reply to: The Hammock Seat #25751I used mine for the first time last evening, and it worked great! I wouldn’t say that the material breaks in though. It seems to me that although the material is very loud, when you are sitting in it, it moves with you so there’s no noise.
in reply to: Need Encouragement #22050I have my moments too. Two years ago, my target panic was so bad, it didn’t keep me from hunting, but I passed up an “easy” 15 yard shot, for fear I would blow it. I’m sure I would’ve blown it. Bow wise, I don’t believe there is a such thing as “the right bow”. Especially when you’re just starting out. Just shoot what you’ve got for a year or so. Once you get fairly proficient with it, you’ll be in a better place to recognize what you like and dislike about your bow, so that IF you decide to get another bow, you’ll be better informed.
