in reply to: T Downing's bull #46860
Cool read and nicely done! I’m sorry about your divorce. Been through one of those when my kids were small….utterly sucked…. but like your bull that showed, we all know good things happen eventually. Hope you’re rebounded and well.
in reply to: Hammock Seat #2900610/4 on the wrap for smaller trees. Took me a few to get on that and thought it was a rip off on small trees..I do figure things out eventually and with a few cuss words thrown in before I do!
in reply to: My new baby #45702That is a beautiful name. Welcome to the world Juliette!
in reply to: On The Wild Edge #56710I’ve watched it several times now. It is that good a film for what we should aspire to. I don’t even know the man (Dave), but he is us, fully human and a brave man to be documented in such a tough time. Walking down this path of life is better knowing there are those of us wanting a real connection to something, not the lowest common denominator. It touched a friend of mine deeply having been through a similar tragedy, and it sure helps, in every way to know we are not alone. I hope Dave knows he has friends here if he wants them or not:)
in reply to: On The Wild Edge #17014Only thing I’ll add to what I’ve already said is in my opinion, the soundtrack was a bit of a downer maybe? I understand it was not an “amped up” production and was to be evocative of the bittersweet….but certain scenes might have been “brighter” with respect to the backing track. Just my opinion, not my movie. Nonetheless, the sparseness evoked fit the film.
in reply to: Nancy 'Redbird" LaClair has passed… #16962I met Ron once as a customer in his shop. He was generous with his time and advice and let this newcomer take his time and encouraged me to shoot some bows. I sensed a kind, generous man who would have done all you’ve said. My best to him and family.
in reply to: Camo Face Paint #63951Thanks all! As we all know, primitive people use(d) mud, ash and whatever for the same purpose and I’m sure some/all of us would in a real pinch. Anyone use natural camo and if so any favorite? I would think charred wood would do it for blacking and would stick better than mud..some berry juices can stain you in the summer.etc..Has got me thinking of what is around my area in fall for free…
in reply to: On The Wild Edge #48994I’ve spun it twice in the DVD player. Enjoyed it twice! I don’t watch commercial hunting videos (this is NOT that) so seeing the Co. Rockies in their September splendor and hearing the elk bugle kind of has me thinking “I oughtta try that”! I thought it put together well some of what Dave has to say. And, by that I mean there is much more he can say that no media can fully capture. Nicely done!
in reply to: Camo Face Paint #41125Let me re-phrase a bit…if I put on the face paint I feel more committed I think. Not so easy as pulling off the face mask on one of those slow days and wandering off to mingle with the rest of humanity…yes…no?
in reply to: What ya got goin? #29714Looking sharp! Welcome back.
