in reply to: Update on Larry Fischer vs The Bastard #12184
Larry – what an insult, a kidney stone on top of it all! I’ll offer this about digestive regulation…my Mother is up there in years now and had back surgery. So, the flora in her gut got tomahawked by the antibiotics. My brother, hearing this says “well, all you have to do now is eat a dead rat and you’ll be all set”. That was a gem and if it can give you a grin, that’s good meds too.
in reply to: Elk Camp right around the corner! #10112Seems to be a very happy virus going on around here. I love the enthusiasm! Can’t imagine hunting elk, but I bet I could get used to it real easy.
in reply to: Kodak Challenge #9794thank you burgess! That was indeed a day to remember. I love the hat…
in reply to: Kodak Challenge #9493Here’s the 2nd pic I mentioned up there. Guess both pics were too large a file size to post at once.
in reply to: Zwickey Delta Giveaway #7771NOW I see when this thread started and the end date:oops: Serves me right posting a drinking story..
in reply to: Zwickey Delta Giveaway #7764Well, here’s one off topic but it’s had a long run and involves hunting. I had an Uncle and his friend who were old school hell raisers. They thought it was pretty funny to poison a poor kid with too much gin. So we get back to camp and hit the bunk beds. I got green shortly after, rolled over in the dark and heaved. Right into a pair of their boots. The lights came on and my Uncle had quite the laugh telling his buddy it was his boots.
in reply to: Finally getting a leg up on target panic! #7744That’s great news. Once in a while I get a little freaky and go off half cocked too. To suffer at every shot and keep at it is a testament to your determination. Keep at it!

So true! To your “hardcore” crowd a blast in the bushes is like some High Crime! You just have to be strategic and rip one where the other guy goes:P
in reply to: Catskills base camp fun! #60961Nice! I’m all for fun, sun and comfort. Pics like that help get me thru the “black and white” season that follows fall.
10 minutes down the rd. Local SGA w some very thick spots I screw myself into. Before EHD hit it’s always been good for an opp. Should be well into recovery now, but then we did have an extreme winter. Will see soon enough. Still not seeing much around the house since ’12. Sad sad sad!
in reply to: Tis the season #58007I am starting to get a wrinkle in my shorts now that August is on the wind down. There are the subtle signs of the change in seasons to come already. I’ve been picking up the downy turkey feathers they lose when dusting lately. I stick one or two on my bow and they really pick up a subtle breeze….

There was so much wrong with it it’s hard to know where to start, but the funniest comment was “I think this car’s engine is so powerless because it’s basically a life support system for all these ridiculous speakers”. It’d be an awesome car for a tailgating college student of uncertain sexual orientation 😉
I’ve always liked the look of those Suburus.
Yes, Jim, the pimped out urban Wrangler is an embarassment to a real woods runner. I think a stripped down Wrangler still has its virtues… a 4X4 ought to be like an old Russian woman – tough and useful. As an aside, who hasn’t seen the guy with the shiny Hummer towing a load of 4 wheelers. Barf, barf..

I hear that. Been doing yard and house maintence for a couple of weeks—possible business buyers visting next week end.
Sorry can’t add to the trad transport as I walk less then 1/4 mile to my hunting area and when I take a deer I pack it out.
One of the nice things about our location is I don’t have to drive to hunt or stump.[/quot
Mike – I envy your access. Not too bad for me here, but still, I had it like you for a long time growing up. Feel like I’ve been on a Reservation ever since. Best of luck with the buyers! I hope it works out. Have you figured out “where to” after the sale?

DING!DING!DING! WE HAVE A WINNER:lol:
in reply to: Trad Transport #57431I put a coat of wax on the old girl, and nary a pimple of rust on her complexion. I am just an enviro questioning the sense of owning basically a gas pig. But, I get the trade offs…midlife crisis and I wanna new toy:roll: But also cracked concrete crisis, deck rebuild crisis, the usual arse pains of keeping the homestead up.
