Nice finds. I’m so overdue to find a shed or arrowhead I may have to take some vacation time this spring and go hunting for them. I could sleep in too.

If my hunting grounds ever get overrun with this stuff, I’m taking up baking!

Hey and welcome! Post pics too. I love to see where everyone comes and goes “out in the bushes”.

Thanks both. I didn’t know that about butane, thanks Grumps. I’m really thinning out my gear and will be looking for a backpack stove and corresponding set of nested cooking gear.

Well, we here in southern Mi. are getting our dose of snow today. Is good! The old snow was needing a freshening up, and I’m all for a high water table come spring. Now and then I’ll open the slider and pop a few airgun pellets at a can in the backyard. It’ll be a couple months before I can get out and shoot the bow much. Yessir, cabeen fever time has set in..on the plus we had a lot of sunshine last week and I stayed out of the office and walked a lot on the job. Man, I felt like a Tigger on springs after that and goes to show how fitness plays into mood this time of year. This is a tough time of year. Stay fit my friends!

Thanks you guys for the story and pics. What a great thing to do this time of year. SH – are those pics off a cell pH or independent camera? They look great!

Cool pic. Getting so my hunting is pretty much roaming around with my camera on the lookout for things like that. I’ve learned not to make it a job:D Winter has not been too bad in my part of Michigan – not yet anyway.

Way to go. Do pigs of that size ever get nasty (compared to the big, frothing at the mouth, charging Russian boar we all have in our minds)?

Truth is I just fiddle with my gear a little bit this time of year. A fair amount of my work puts me in the field on a daily basis. I honestly have no interest in going outdoors voluntarily this time of year. I’ve had enough fresh air by the end of the week. It’s kind of a year round dilemma of the best kind:D

Dwc – I found it looking for something profound:D and it struck me funny. I can take some guesses at best. Maybe even a dumb goat will take a shortcut to the top????

I have a book from author Kent Nerburn. A Haunting Reverence. I find myself going back to it now and then. Has anyone read anything more from him? From what I gather the author has been in search of a native American spirituality and as such, love and respect for the land and place strike a chord with me. Seems a good fit here with a land ethic theme. Anyone familiar with more of his work?

The pics capture the essence of a late season hunt. Very nice!

Looking forward to paring my stuff down to the bare minimum this year.
