I wonder if this delineation folks get wound up about, ie, what type weapon to then build elite camps around similar mind sets, isn’t just something American or North American (not to leave out our CN friends).
Curious question to me… I think the fact that states started putting together “special” seasons for varied like type weapons may have created some of the rift…each “camp” assured the other has a jump on them, or an unfair advantage, thus starts the “my dog’s better’n your dog”… rhetoric..
I think you’re on it Doc, you’re a hound dog:lol: Never “thunked” of that, but makes sense.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #13463Really enjoyed the pics. Thanks Alex!

Your heart well Scott???? How bout yer britches??:D
haha..thank you for your concern. I think I scared her worse maybe? Coffee that gets a gurglin’ in yer gullet is the worst risk to the britches too8)
in reply to: Stone Arrowheads #63505R2 – I wonder if those stoners ever worried about gr weights:lol:? I bet they did in their own way….
in reply to: What Ya NOT Got Goin'? #63501Had my annual almost stepped on a hen turkey nest when Mother Turk blew up in my face today! That does test the ticker for a second.
in reply to: Mitten's article in the current TBM #63488R2 wrote: Oh no, I’m in trouble.
I ain’t gonna tell ya the best way to fish the brushy mountain creeks for brookies. I’ll be tarred and feathered:roll::roll:
No you won’t! I grew up fishing small stream brookies and it’s meat all the way. Roll over those damp logs and pick some worms. If the little buzz saws don’t bite on the 2nd flip, they ain’t there or in the mood. Flipping a worm under a tight overhang of tag alders to get to just the right spot may be cave art to some, but it’s art:wink:
in reply to: Mitten's article in the current TBM #62308I’m with dwc up there…..I have to read the article. I haven’t picked up a “holier than thou” vibe in the trad community. But I’m not part of one anyway, except this site. And I don’t sense that here. If anything, it’s way too quiet around here…
in reply to: Tendonitis? #61277Best to you Etter! I’m not sure the human body was designed to heavy lift into its 30’s. I sure do understand the strength of youth and how I used to look and feel. Just mid 50’s now, but I could walk into the sundown anyday and probably hold my own with a twenty something for a few seconds:lol: Recover, ease up on the workouts if you can, and remember your own body weight is easy and cheap. Stuff I’m sure you know….don’t wear yourself out too early and get chucked on the junk pile with so many years of bow totin’ yet to do.
in reply to: Field vs Broadhead Weights #61070Smithhammer wrote: [quote=paleoman]All fly well, so should I be concerned?
I’d say the answer is in the question.
What did people do before grain scales? They observed the results and kept the ones that flew well.
SH – you’re right! I’m happy with an apple size group at 20 yards. No German in me, but if I could get down to a ping pong ball if the weight mattered enough, I wouldn’t stop progress, but neither do I want to lose the “good” to an attempt at perfection.

My bro lives in the DFW area and has a habit of texting me -got 4″ rain this week, got a 1/2″ awhile ago, 2″ last nite. Thanks bro. If it rained that much here we’d think the gulf had expanded.
I’m glad the closest storm went south following a little cool front. Good for me but not for folks at Happy. TX. with baseball size hail.
I check on weather happenings for other folks I know too.
Hey Doc, it’s raining uh? How does your garden grow:?:?Shootin your bow?
So Scott, y’all through with winter yet? Shootin your bow?:D
Yup, I have been shooting my bow. So far, so good! Winter is over, but everyday shortsleeve shirts and grass mowing season is taking its time.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #60942Ralph – did you get a gullywasher down there? I saw the severe weather map had your area covered in the last day or so. I do enjoy knowing where some of you are and checking in to see what the weather is doing in your ‘hoods. The US Drought Monitor has been scary, scary looking the last couple years out West! N central Nevada must look like the surface of Mercury? I know most of Cali is very bad but I think they had a bit of a break at one point, that bubble in Nv has not changed in a LONG time. As I remember it anyway….
in reply to: What Ya NOT Got Goin'? #60937No sun or warmth here today. 38 at the moment. But better than it was 2 months ago! And Michigan is a bit further ahead 60 miles E of here than us closer to the big lakes. The grass was much greener. Tomorrow supposed to be sunny and near 60 woohoo! I’m on call for electric utility co. troubles next week and so far, looks like no big weather issues..knock knock. Life is good, but come on warm weather….every time it gets cold again I start trotting like a wolf looking for a stray pizza to chase down…

I know! Same here:cry: For whatever reason I remember the spring of ’95 not giving up to warmth until well into May. I actually “inletted” and old buffalo nickel into a rifle stock with my pocketknife I was so bathouse crazy one weekend. It came out well too, considering I could have ruined a nice stock in one false move. It’s starting to feel like that spring again!
in reply to: I think I have a record here… #56768I heard at a seminar a couple summers ago, from an entymologist (bug man) that one of the Raid products has permethrin as its main active ingredient, and that, he was “just sayin'” you can get more for less of the same thing in a can of Raid. I did check it out in the store, and sure enough there it was on the label. I just did a Google search and can’t pin down which one it was though…..still, spraying “Raid”, even on just my clothing seems weird. I suppose none of it is any good for general health,, but I’ll take it over ticks on my hide anyday.
