I like footed shafts, because of the front weight,
i prefer Violetwood and Blacklocust, (you can get them boiled
and so it`s very dark ) and last but not least, footed arrows
      look very nice.

            Hi Patrick
            Thanks for the commendation.
The nocks are footed self nocks in triple splice.
The wood is service tree. (Sorbus torminalis)

Here are my hunting arrows for 2010.
The footing is ebony, their weight is 650 gr and they
              have 25% FOC.

I think nobody knows exactly, but one reason could be,
after second world war was a lot of poaching with bow and
                especially crossbow.
When in the year 1949 the Federal Republic of Germany
was established they also made a new gamelaw.
In this law you can read, hunting with bolts and arrows for
all deers, all boars and all sheep is illegal.

                  Hello Clay
I made a jig like yours, it works verry well.
                  Thanks for the tip.
I make hardwood dowels, because i need them for my triple spliced nocks.
It was always difficult to get dowels from ebony or purpleheart.
Here in Bavaria is a shaft producer and he sometimes made for
me, but he never was happy about my hardwoods.
                  So thanks again.
