in reply to: chek mate bows #10540

I shoot a chekmate hunterII and love it. Shoots great and looks that way too. Marc builds a great bow and you won’t be disappointed. And the price is very reasonable for a custom bow. Good luck!
in reply to: Arrow confused #63989Amen freind! I am in the same battle and have come to realize after all but begging, is like u said, there is no cut and dry answer to our delima. I’ve decided to just make my best educated guess from all the info I’ve read as a starting point and just hope for the best that it tunes and shoots great while getting efoc and if that fails…. Well there’s always ebay. Good luck and if u do happen to stumble upon this holy grail by all means, please let me know!

So far I’ve not had to go below 29″. Use a small piece of Scotch tape to hold the adapter in place while bare shafting so that it’s easy to pull out if you need to cut. dp
OK is these with the stiffer spined carbons?

You should read “redtape’s” thread above, “Help me get EFOC,” and Dr. Ashby’s response, as it’s close to your same question. Good luck. dave
Dave, thanks i checked out the post from Redtape and it is very similar to what im after. Im a little confused as it seems u would go with the stiffer spine and Dr. Ashby recommended weaker spine depending on centershot etc… Man this stuff makes me dizzy. Guess i’ll just go w/ recommendation of the chart with 125 gr head and hope for the best. Thanks again.

I am asking for advice on what I should be looking for in a new bow.I would be hunting mainly whitetail with this bow.
Thanks for now,JohnWelcome to greener pastures my friend, you wont regret the switch. Check out Chekmate bows. They are custom made in Canada. The website and rep I went thru is http://www.recurves.com
They are fine shooting bows at more reasonable prices. Good luck.in reply to: NO DEER, BUT THIS WAS FUN… #44901stefan 1984 wrote: nice shoot 🙂

I wish i could say it was fall here in Mississippi, but today 09-23-10 it is a steamy 98 degrees. Only color change in our trees is from heat and lack of rain. Great pics.in reply to: What type of bow does everyone shoot #63562maineac wrote: Chek-mate hunter 2 with 53# limbs and 65# limbs. Shoots like a dream and looks beautiful to boot.

No, i was only only kidding. It probably was more interesting than the original anyway…

in reply to: ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THIS BOW? #56765YELLING? IM SORRY I DIDNT THINK WE WERE SO SENSITIVE TO CAPS LOCKS. IM JUST A LAZY TYPER…i’ll do better, unless all lower case makes me seem inferior.
in reply to: Great target for stump shooting #54427I’LL TELL YOU WHAT I DO FOR FUN AND GREAT TARGET PRACTICE. I BUY A HUGE BAG OF PARTY BALLOONS WHICH ARE SUPER CHEAP AND YOU CAN BLOW THEM UP TO DIFFERENT SIZES FOR DIFFERENT CHALLENGES AND HANG EM OR STICK EM TO ABOUT ANYTHING AND ON WINDY DAYS THEY MAKE FOR GREAT MOVING TARGETS. YOU STILL HAVE TO PICK UP THE REMAINS BUT THAT POP AND DISAPPEAR JUST ADDS TO THE EXCITEMENT. ANYWAY, THATS MY 2 CENTS.
in reply to: Feeling like a Dinosaur…… #45611WELL, I DONT THINK YOU HAVE TO BE OLD TO FEEL THAT WAY. IM ONLY 30 AND JUST BEEN INTO TRADITIONAL ARCHERY FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW, BUT DERN IM GLAD I STUMBLED INTO IT AND FOUND ALL YOU GUYS. I FEEL LIKE A LOAD HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF AND I NO LONGER HAVE TO FIGHT TO KEEP UP W/ THE SPEED HOOPLA AND ALL THE NEW GEAR TO GO WITH IT. IM LOVING THE PRIDE AND SIMPLICITY OF THINGS THAT GO W/ TRAD ARCHERY. SO IF ITS DINOSAURS WE’RE CALLED BECAUSE WE LIKE GOOD OLD TRADITION THEN SO BE IT….I’LL BE HONORED TO BE ONE
