Love all the support on here for the women of this sport! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of us women bowhunters. I agree, the more women hunt the more our youth will. I personally think more women would bowhunt if they had the opportunity to try. I myself, had no idea I could do it (let alone traditional) until someone put the bow in my hand.
I am headed to Quebec on Friday. Wish me luck. This will be my third bear hunt and I would really like to be successful this time :lol:
We are still looking for a sites for the women’s bowhunt so if there are any ideas out there…hop over to the thread about it and let us know!
in reply to: ARCHERY IS FOR GIRLS!!!! #20683Nice Arrows! I myself shoot pink and purple arrows and love them (I can always see them!)I think it is great that you guys are encouraging your daughters and wives! Awesome!!:D
in reply to: Ladies, welcome to the campfire. #33162Thank you for all the Great Tips!
Robin: REALLY??? Bananas??? I had not heard that…hmmm…the things you can learn from fellow bowhunters…
Belinda: Thanks for the tip and Africa is definitely on the bucket list. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Quebec is a beautiful place to hunt and the last I knew…Africa was a little short on Black Bears!
Well I will stop eating Bananas 2 weeks before we leave. I will have Therma Cell in hand. I will try the brewers yeast and I plan on using the repellent that the local guys at camp use. If this all does not help…well…I will grin and bear it…then complain back at camp!
I have spoken with many of you this past week and I am really happy to see that you guys enjoyed the seminar in Nashville as much as we did. We are in the process of planning the All Woman Hunt that we discussed. Right now we are in the process of looking for possible properties. Our goal is to find something reasonably priced with a high success ratio. If you have any thoughts, would like to help plan or if you are just interested in attending, let us know.
Again, Thanks!!!

Wow! Now that I know how to post on here…there is no guarantee that I will shut up…:DThank you Robin for putting this together for us! I am excited to see where this could go and of course I think it is GREAT that there are guys that are willing to be helpful!
The seminar was a great start for women to start exchanging ideas and I personally learned quite a bit myself.
So as a starter…I have a question to get things going..
At the end of June I am going to Quebec to hunt bear. This is my 3rd time hunting bear, my second in Quebec. As everyone knows…the black flies and mosquitoes are awful this time of the year. Are there any good suggestions to make the hunt a little more comfortable? Any opinions on therma-cell? A scent free repellent? Head Nets? My first time there, I was so distracted that it took away from the hunt, so any advice is GREATLY appreciated! -
