      Well, I finally got the string on! Many thanks to all of you for the help and suggestions. Special thanks to you Doc Nock.

        That’s probably why the old one was easier to put on and take off then. It was stretched. I bought the bow from a co-worker for a hundred bucks so it was used. Seems odd to me though that he and I could use the same bow. I’m 5’9″ and he is 6’5″ with much longer arms than me.

          So, do you think, if I get the string on, I should leave it for several hours to stretch a little?

            Unfortunately, my wife threw away the old string before I could measure it. I have tried all that you have described. I know the previous string was much easier to put on and take off. If I finally get this new string on, it seems it would be too tight to pull. We’ll see. Thanks.
