Warmer than normal here in central Idaho and didn’t have squat for snow. Hope we get some rain or it’s setting up to be a bad fire year.

I have been using wide rubber bands to keep my hunting coats away from the string. Good tip about changing stance. I will give it a try when the sun comes up again.

Personally, I work in a very high tech electrical job in South America. Everything I do is with a laptop or a smart phone. However, when I am back home in Idaho, I choose to use flintlock muzzleloaders or archery gear and treck a lot in the mountians as the original people in this valley did. I have recently started recurve shooting and foresee my compound hanging on the wall. For me it is the balance in life that is important and using traditional equipment provides that balance.

                Thanks,

I at this time I am using what I think is the original bow string and it measures 6 and 3/4 ” from the back of the shelf (my side of the shelf) to the string. I have seen on the forum about unwinding or tightening the sring, but am confused about this as both ends of the bowstring are wrapped with red string and of course the serving string is wrapped around the bowstring where the nock is.I am shooting 400 spline Gold tip arrows with feather fletching and muzzy 125 grain broadheads and practice blades. I find much closer groups with broadheads rather than field points. (Don’t know why this is, but it is). I can get very tight groups +- 2″ @ 10 yards but over that the groups average 6-8″ at 15 yards 10 inches at 20 yards and at 30 yards, my arrows are in the straw bales I have around my shot blocker target. I have TJ Conrads Bowhunters Handbook on the way and have been told this is a wealth of info. Maybe I just wait

Thanks Craig, I’ll give that a try. It does seem this bow has some strange sounds when releasing the arrow, but this is my first recurve so I have nothing to compare with. Thanks again
