Awesome ! Just what I’m looking for.
I have no idea what shutterfly is or how to do what you advised but the photos are great. I especially like the first one.
Thanks
JT
in reply to: frameable quality Saxton P photo #44619Thanks Robin,
I sorta figured that was the way to go.
Guess I hoped someone would pop in and say “simple just go to so and so”.
I certainly thank you though.
My search begins

in reply to: Some Family Hunting and Scouting Pics #20573I had just about talked myself out of going back to CO next season and BAM your pics.
Thanks T, I needed that.
JTin reply to: Goose (Big Game ?) #8299Thanks Duncan,
It’s to late for this particular bird but I’ll remember your suggestions for the future, Sadly I’m in the same boat as Dave see’n how this is only the second goose I’ve ever killed.
I live in a major flyway and could possibly take many, many geese during season but that would require the use of a shotgun and interfere with bow season for deer, of which neither appeals to me in the least.
Regards
JTin reply to: TBM's Ol Dave Petersen got his Coues #8283I’ve seen quoted before something along the lines of ” it’s not the destination as much as the journey”. I suspect it applies here. I actually feel a little remorse for Dave.
Congratulations Dave.
PS I hope my comment comes across as I’ve intended.
JTin reply to: Goose (Big Game ?) #8268Summer,
She definently tries to claim the kill.
Actually some of my surprise of getting a shot at this bird comes from her being with me. She’s a young pup and runs around like mad, she was running around as I stalked the flock and never once gave up the ghost. She seemed to know to stay out of sight. She’s an attempt at a replacement to the finest dog anyone would ever dream to have, (thats another story) and I think she’s fitting the bill just fine.
Dave,
I’m with you, I’ve never had the taste for water bird but instead of giveing this one away I decided to make jerky out of it. Tastes pretty good but certainly not as good as venison jerky.

JTin reply to: atv riding #58916Dave,
You’ve not poisoned this discussion what so ever as I see it.
As a matter of fact your response is more like an injection of enlightenment then a bite from a rattler.
I agree, sadly, that the problem is only going to grow.
JTin reply to: atv riding #58769H V,
You’ll get no blasting from me.
Your response was very well put and I have loads of respect for your way of thinking.
I feel for you and understand where you’re coming from 100%.
In all actuality it’s people like yourself that are the most adversly affected by the actions of the huge majority of ATV riders (based soley on my experiences with them).
It’s not the ATV thats the problem it’s the owners and their seemingly universal way of thinking. It’s a shame all ATV riders aren’t like you.
JTin reply to: Rutting activity in January #58715Yes Chad we thought it was a bit wierd also thats why my first reaction was that they were poached in the summer, froze, then brought in to him, but one of them was brought in to him whole, he said it wasn’t even field dressed when the guy brought it in.
BTW the deer I’m speaking of was killed on a public area that borders the county landfill. Kinda funny you mentioned that as a consideration. 😆
The other 2 deer I have no idea the details about them.
Interesting for sure.
JTin reply to: Rutting activity in January #58650I agree with everyone. Definently many factors involved.
Chad speaking about antlers, I was at the taxidermists a week or so ago and he had 3 bucks come in that still were in velvet that were killed in late Nov. My first thought was “poached” then he told me that all three had no testicles and figured the lack of testosterone was the reason for being still in velvet that late. Neither of us are biologists but it made sense to me.
Thanks for the input,
JTin reply to: Rutting activity in January #57738Wild, the winter here has been colder then usual the past 2 yrs but we really haven’t gotten alot of snow.
Duncan, I was sorta thinking along the same lines other than the doe that was beeing chased was a big ole horse head.
I wonder if her first breeding just didn’t take or if the fetus was lost for some reason would she have gone back into “heat” ?
Maybe she was a late drop as you’ve suggested but from the year before and is still on the same time line.
Just pontificating out loud really. Made for a great ending to the season none the less.
Thanks,
JTin reply to: Goose (Big Game ?) #57496Thanks Wild.
in reply to: Goose (Big Game ?) #55548BTW, I shoot a Big Jim Buffalo bow and used one of his new BIG 3 heads. Second critter with the head and both times the holes were crazy big. I wouldn’t use them on anything bigger than a deer but there fun on smaller critters.
in reply to: atv riding #55533I also agree with the majority here. I work in CO 3 months a year and the abuse is unbelievable.
This past season My boss and myself were driveing up a FS road with 2 clients. As we approached a curve in the rd an atv came flying around the curve and slammed into the side of his truck. How the guy stepped away unhurt still amazes me. An idiot for sure. A few weeks after that I was riding up a different FS road packing clients into base camp when I heard an atv head down towards us. I stopped ASAP and got everyone to the far side of the rd. This moron came blowing by us and our horses spooking the heck out of everyone. If I hadn’t moved everyone to the side he would’ve most certainly plowed into someone.
I’m also amazed at how people here where I live “have” to use them when the biggest piece of land they hunt might crack 200 acres.
Sorry for the long post but I figured examples would clarify my why I despise ATVs.
JTin reply to: Picture test #48839Dang it worked !
