More due to being familiar with carbon than anything else. I have been assembling my own arrows and enjoy spending time doing this. My question, I am currently shooting Gold Tip Traditional shafts, 5575 spine at 29.25″, front weight (point & brass at 195gr field point and 200gr broad head) total weight of assembled arrows are 496 and 501 gr respectively from a Timberhawk Talon Monarch at 50#. they seem to shoot well. Since I do enjoy assembling arrows I am contemplating building wood shaft arrows to be able to be a bit artistic, customize etc. If I do so I would like to begin with something that I can be relatively comfortable will tune to this bow. Where do I begin???
With all being equal point weight shaft length and draw, 65# to 70# would be a good starting point. Generally speaking, most people lose a little in draw length when switching from compounds to Trad gear. I would check and confirm that first before I started making arrows.
Thanks,
Will start there month and see where I get.
