in reply to: Longbow speed #56215
Depends on whether I am walking (slow) or driving in the car.
Seriously: I think they are fast enough, if they kill. I Agree that it is more important to worry about hitting what I’m shooting at, and finding the arrows that miss. How fast doe’s an arrow have to be to kill a stump anyway?
in reply to: What ya got goin? #10758Over the handle bars. Used to do that all the time landed on a porch once, slid across the hood of several cars, and left flesh on the pavement more times than I remember… But that was 50 years ago.
I don’t have a bike becouse at 66 I would be just as dangerous, and a lot more fragile.
You WILL recover.

in reply to: I've been gone too long… #52467“I’ve been gone too long…” Is that a line from some old song I should remember?
We moved over the weekend (same town, but overlooking the lake rather than on the common). My feet are not bending much, but keep walking around or they will bind up for good.
in reply to: Litter Bugs #21351Good Post!!!!
Every time I go stumping (try to make it twice a week) I come home with a bag full of beer cans and mylar balloons. Yes, mylar balloons. The kids let go of the string, they float away, and have to come down some where.
Most of the fly fishermen I know carry some kind of bag for trash each time they go out, and it always comes home full. Good public relations when the land owner sees you dragging the trash out of his woods.
This is the kind of thing that grows a little piece at a time, the best way to fight it is a little piece at a time. 😉
in reply to: I've been gone too long… #21268I’ve always found that exercise is really great at lifting your spirits. The only problem is that the more you need the exercise the harder it is to get started. Might be good to start out with a walk in the woods, killing stumps.
Hoping it gets better critch.

in reply to: Two arrow bow quiver #31832I grew up quiverless, and can still carry a couple arrows in my bow hand (Audrey suggested a pocket till I told her we were talking broadheads.. said broudheads could cause damage to…..)
in reply to: What wax do you use on your longbow #31790The Ice Man used blood to protect his bow from moisture.
