Actually it id a welders tool I used to use a lot as a copper smith.

I’ve been sharpening for over half a century, and never needed a guide for the angle, just followed the original angle.

When I was out this morning stumping/scouting I wore a bug net over my head for both the skeeters, and camo (its green). Really don’t like it. The bugs still know I’m there, so they constantly buzz me, but can’t bite. When hunting I wear a face cover I made from elastic, and some gauzy camo fabric. It covers, but doesn’t make my breath fog the glasses. When it gets cold, I cover neck, and face with a fleece. With those, I don’t have to cover the eyes, which bothers me.

I’ve used a lot of superglue, but the last time I used the Bohning tape. Tape works a lot better, and is a lot faster. Best superglue was made by Lock Tite, use the waterproof kind.

New England hasn’t changed. I believe there is a flag on every house in town. We had a reading of the Declaration of Independence , a concert, and a big bon fire on the common. After dark we lie in bed and listened to the fireworks down on the lake (all illegal, no arrests).

Not a doctor, but I am told Carotene (a dietary supplement) which is contained in carrots, will make you smell objectionable to the skeeters. On the other hand Arwen hasn’t had a skeeter bite in 12 years, and she doesn’t like carrots. Which is just one of the many things I don’t understand about this child. The gentle breezes coming off the lake make the skeeters crash and burn. We like that.

Looks old and ugly. Is the rest of Texas that old and ugly :), we have pretty deer up here in the civilized world. On the other hand our deer are pretty rude, snickering in the bushes and all.
