I’ve been lurking for a bit, and I’m sorry if this a bit of a hijack, but is there any chance some of you shooting with 2018s could share the set-up specs you’re using? I just got my Wes Wallace 48LBS 66″ longbow with a 28″ draw delivered yesterday and am looking to get my usual 2018 Legacy arrows tuned up to at least 650 grains. If need be, I’m also open to adjusting shaft diameter to hit my weight target, since hunting season is already underway in Southern California, though I’m not really interested right now in swapping aluminum shafts for carbon.
Skinner, as for brass inserts, digging through a few Google searches gave me a great list for years of heartache from hunters asking your same question. I think I’d be inclined to deeply consider taking up handirifle’s offer for turning down a larger insert.
