I have been experimenting with footing arrows recently. I seem to have a lot of bad luck when I miss and hit the only rock in the area. Normally when that happens the shaft splits (carbon) and is ruined. Since I installed footing I have damaged only one arrow and the point bent but the shaft was not damaged. I have not hunted with them yet but it seems to me to be a noticeable difference in the strength of the assembly as a whole. Footing does not seem to affect flight characteristics at all.

I just printed this thread so I can keep it with my sharpening stuff on the bench and do it right!

Alex, I’m thinking of ordering a PL-III take down. I have a PSR and love it but want to make the jump to the long bow. I’ll be interested to see your post when you get her.

I don’t see a conflict with the helicopter in the picture. I just assume the “action” is taking place in New Zealand. I have seen Kuiu adds where they are riding on horses or just hiking. Basically they are selling clothing and its really good stuff. I have some of there clothing and it is remarkably warm for its light weight. I also use 4 wheel drive almost every day year round. Tough to live on a dirt road in a rural area without it.

The mount looks great. Good story too, you’ll never forget the day you put the pieces together and landed that nice deer.

I like the hammock seat as well. I started using it last year and its light and easy to set up and take down. Its worth carrying.

I enjoyed listening to it at work as well. Always interesting to listen to David express what many of us feel. I wish they would have given him more time.

Thanks Col. Mike for posting the link.

Just got back from Colorado myself. We too had rain every day except the last one. We had flurries but nothing stuck, although we could see snow on the higher peaks. We did not get one either but got close twice. Its always exciting to see a bull up close. Even with the rain and lack of success we had a great time.

I could definitely see myself moving West one day. Every year I go out, it gets harder to head east again.

Great pictures Alex. I’m heading out there Saturday to hunt for Mr. Elk. Cant wait to get out in the mountains and sleep under the stars.

Clay: Just watched the movie. Fantastic!! I already forwarded it to several of my hunting friends. Great film work and music, a great job all the way around. Thanks for making it available to everyone!

Sounds great, you’ve got a good outline going. I’m especially pleased to see a high school course like this being developed in Upstate NY.
