Another option to the MFX classic is the MFX realtree. It is the same shaft but slightly cheaper and slighly less grains per inch, due to not having the faux wood covering. These will tune exactly the same as the calssics and are a little more available at local bowshops.

I have had good luck with Beman MFX classics for last 5 years.
I shoot a 58# Belcher recurve at 28″DL and I am right on the border between the 400 and 340 spine to acheive proper tuning. I shoot a 175grn BH (NAP razorcaps) with a 15grn aluminum insert. Your friend would have a longer arrow, around 31 to 32 inches decreasing the arrow spine, so may have to go with the 340. Also bemans now come with a breakoff 50/75 grn brass insert so may have to decrease the BH weight slightly depending on tuning and overall arrow weight desired. You could get the Beman test pack for tuning before purchasing a dozen. By the way, NAP razorcaps are a great three blade fixed BH the you can change the weight by changing the ferrule at a fraction of the cost. Also, allows for flexiblility to use with different bows without buying all new BH’s. Hope this helps.
