Steve’s thread got me going by pulling Core Archery off the shelf and then Arne mentioned Kidwell somewhere, so I pulled Jay Kidwell’s Instinctive Archery Insights. I looked it over several years ago and now thought it deserved a closer look.

I think his idea of watching and programing the trajectory of the arrow into your shooting, rather than just point of impact, is interesting. I have not given that a specific try, but intend to. I do watch trajectory and definitely work it into my shooting, especially when stumping. But have not trained this way on the range with any real intention.

Has anyone else attempted this? Maybe it’s more widespread concept than I thought. Best, dwc

I was hoping the Pope would swing by on his way to Philly to go stumping here for a little bit. I’ll take all the help I can get, even if I’m not Catholic.

My woods are Eastern Pa, a hilly mix of hardwoods and conifers. Beautiful streams and a wide variety of birds to amuse me while I wait and meditate. Nice start of a thread. Thank you for asking. Dwc

Steve, in comparison, it looks like Pa might have the right idea on this reintroduction. I haven’t even driven out to see them. It’s quite a tourist sensational, and a good one at that. I didn’t know they ranges as far south as you are. Is that from a Tennessee reintroduction? Interesting. Dc

That’s a great effort! No wonder you were shooting bad with so much to take care of.

My guess is most of us spend more time on shooting than on sneaking. I know I’m guilty of that. I’m pretty sure I can hit pretty well 15 and under , but getting that close is the bigger challenge.

Way to use them up! Those foam targets are expensive. I’m going to try the horse stall matt behind bales next, ala Steve Graf. A 3×4 matt is on sale for $20 at tractor supply so I’ll pick one up and give it a try. Best. Dwc
