Merry Christmas! Brown is the color of Christmas this year. It is what it is and it’s always nice to have the day of rest with family, whatever the weather.

Late season archery opens in the morning! peace, david

Steve, Wojo, Arroz, thanks. When this idea was passed on to me, via that other thread, it was all about spreading what we consider to be a better way.

The other side of this is that by reaching out, not only do the ideas reach more people, but the good folks who work hard to keep this project going, the publisher, Webmom, editors, and contributors, will reach a greater audience for their efforts. Rewards all around.

Merry Christmas to you all! peace, david

Arroz, cool deal. I already got an email back form the library director that the order has been placed and they’ll start with the February/March issue. Happy Holidays! Dwc

I agree the trophy is in the hunt. The hunt is the learning, leading up to, the actual hunt and the post-hunting experience. By taking up archery, I’ve learned to much more about hunting, about animals, about the woods. That’s been so much for the reward for me. I used to take all of my deer to the local processor/butcher until a few years ago. I have no qualms with someone taking their deer to the butcher. Some folks have not explored the skills required, which are fewer than I expected. Some folks don’t have the place to do it properly and some just aren’t interested. As long as the hunt was ethical, as long as every attempt was honestly made to recover the animal, which mainly includes the meat, to each his own.

What some folks think is a trophy hunt does not make sense to me. I watched a fenced in buck pace during the rut this year with a nice doe standing on the other side of the fence. Heart breaking.

All the best to ya, dwc

I suppose it’s a rare bird that isn’t indulging in at least some brainwashing. It’s just the smart ones who know it. 😉 dwc

Sounds like the turkeys are busy training you guys where to go during hunting season so they can relax where they’d rather be. dwc

R2, I think that’s the real archer’s paradox. Get your spine straight and you’ll be just fine. D

Very beautiful. Will she have some arrows with it? She might just disappear for the rest of the day after she opens that package. Thanks for posting. Best, dwc

Grumpy, great story. Great accomplishment. I was just a few feet away from a couple of big doe some years ago hunting with my flinter. Didn’t shoot because my buddy was somewhere through the swamp on the other side of them. I just got such pleasure of being so close on their level. Your hunt was a raging success in my book. Congratulations for the reward of your persistence. Best, dwc

Looks like Diamond is standing guard on the nice rig hanging back there.

Rifle season closes in PA today. Not any opportunity on anything legal, but nice to be in the woods.

Next chance begins day after Christmas. Life is on the wire (read that deer season), the rest is waiting. The Great Wallenda.

Don’t tell me you were looking at National Geographic, too? I used to stop in the library on the way home from school and look through the fishing books mainly. Found out that the creek I grew up on was once a famous fly fishing stream, mentioned in books right along with some of the other famous rivers. Neat stuff. best, dwc

                                Steve,

Good points. I don’t buy many magazines anymore, but I’ll look over the rack if I’m waiting for someone. I’m always pleasantly surprised to see Trad Bow on a shelf. I thought about making it a gift to the local library, but to see if it gets any interest. All the best, dwc

Welcome from one PA guy to another! What town are you in? I’m in the Poconos. Keep at it and your practice will meet an opportunity. All the best, dwc
